just blew up my shop vac!

So one of the kids spilled trail mix on the garage floor. I plugged in the shop vac and my brother called. While Im standing there trying to hurry him off the phone so I can get the nuts and raisins vac'd up, I went ahead and lit a smoke.

Not thinking I threw the butt on the floor of the garage with all the other crap down there and swept it up. As soon as I seen the butt get sucked up, the top of the canastier burst off and slammed against the top of the garage. The fuckin fuse blew in the garage and I was like whooooa. I didnt see any flames but it literally blew up.

It then occured to me why it happened (like seconds from disaster on NatG)

The first time I put the Seafoam in the other day, it didnt work. I poured it into the intake tube but there wasnt enough suction to pull it into the throttle body. The seafoam ran down and out the filter onto the garage floor. Well, I noticed it right away and threw some sawdust like shit on it to soak it up. I didnt want it sitting there on the floor so I sucked it up with the shop vac. That was the last time I used the thing. That has to be what caused the top to blow off but Im not sure.

My Dads gonna be pissed.... it was his shop vac he left over here. The top wont lock back on now.
