Shelby discussion

k so some ppl seem to think the new shelby is the epitome of handling, where others think the new shelby cudnt handle its way out of a paper bag (which is more difficult than it may seem)

also, 500hp isnt that impressive for a 2 ton car..

and neither is the drag coefficient

that car sucks big time.. if the 05+ is a boat, that thing is a cruise liner

if you haven't driven a car with horsepower in the triple digits you have no room to talk.

how so?

Your car or the amount of HP it has isn't an extension of your opinion.

the new shelbys look great. and they come with enough hp but all in all the numbers it puts down and runs are nothing spectacular.

i think its always been stickered at like 45... its just stupid people are willing to pay 15 over sticker for them so dealers keep selling them for that price and making some money

3920lbs with 500HP thats a 7.84 power to weight ratio

the new GT's like mine are 3488lbs and 300hp which is a 11.66 power to weight ratio

strap on a kenne bell 2.6L SC at 8psi and you have 523HP at the flywheel which gives a 6.6 power to weight ratio

what im getting at is yes it would be fuckin awesome to say i have a GT500 but for the money the GT is better in my opinion

they seem to be going for about 15-20k over sticker price out here and out here is pretty much where you are too....

oh and hey about the power to weight ratio does that mean a supercharger making 457 rwhp and like 500rqtq will beat a gt500 with 550rwhp in the 1/4 mile?

a GT with 457 rwhp as a 7.6 power to weight ratio

A shelby with 550rwhp as a 7.1 power to weight ratio

thats a drivers race right there....its amazing the difference 500 pounds can make

yeah with the weight difference even though it sounds small it doesn't make it that much more on the pavement if that makes any sense. Yes i agree the 5.4 will kill the 4.6 in torque on a vehicle with the SAME WEIGHT but in this case we have a 500 pound difference if not more depending on the driver hahaha

doesnt the gt500 also work better with mods and tuning? like ex : gt will make 23tq from a tune and a gt500 will make 48tq from a tune? those arent exact numbers just saying as ex
