28 Weeks Later was pretty good. not as hopeless as 28 Days Later, nut still pretty damn good. and i saw 1408 recently also. it was more of a psychological thriller than straight horror. i'm a fan of John Cusack's work, and Samuel L. Jackson was in it, even though unfortunately, he doesn't say "MUTHAFUCKA" once, it's still a pretty good flick.

i had that same problem with Sweet Home Alabama. saw it with my ex wife. hated it for years, then watched it with my girlfriend at the time and realized that i didn't hate the movie, i just hated my wife. now i can almost tolerate it.

not really. you learn enough in the second movie to help you fill in the blanks. the first movie was really good. i like it better the 28 weeks later. the second one had more action than the first. the first was a bit more low key, but it was still great.
