well i pretty much fucked up my ethernet port on my laptop and the cord has to be in there perfectly for my internet to work , the slightest movement makes it disconnect, so my question is , is there anyway i can connect my modem a different way?

some modems have a usb connection. ive never used one but im sure its just plug and play. and im assuming you have an onboard ethernet card, which you cant change? also you can always get ethernet adapters. so you could hook it up to usb or what have you.

psh wireless sucks, i took 4 semesters of cisco networking, and spent shit ton of hours fucking around with networking. if you want my semi but not quite close to professional opinion, wireless blows, especially if you like your shit to be seen by who its meant to be seen.

i cant find much that i dont know
go to your modem or router companys website and download the drivers, it should pretty much be plug and play. write down your ip and all that good shit , in case it clears it and you cant connect.

it comes with it if you want it lol...

and its not the modems. its the routers/switches. modems just recieve the signal from the internet carrier and turns it into a format you can use, and sets a limit on your speed. thats why they say up to 6Mb/s or what have you. thats what they have your ceiling speed set at.

Dmax the only dsl company all the modems came with wireless..

idk the only thing i see is a cable coming to the modem the modem has the antenna and the cable that goes to my desktop (i'm currently on my notebook)

You took 4 semesters of cisco and you don't know how to install drivers for a usb modem? (i understand that cisco is netoworking, but i thought you had to atleast KNOW how to work a computer to take that).

Search google for a usb to ethernet. or go to amazon i have then link but it won't let me post it.

Most ADSL modems will not work with out the install of drivers.
