Is it possible to drink TOO MUCH orange juice?


Ok so I drink about 32-64 oz. of orange juice a day

Its not the greatest thing in the world but I do it mainly for the calories along with some other fresh juices like grape/cranberry/peach etc



Can drinking too much orange juice be bad for you? I know there is sugar in it but i think its just from the fruit and isn't like sucrose sugar


anyone?

if you had acid reflex but i don't think i have that cuz i dont get acid shits...

Drinking to much water can kill you. So yes there is a such thing as to much orange juice. What do you need added calories for ?

To much sugar can cause increases in insulin levels in the blood. Over a period of years, an increased level of insulin can lead to a condition known as insulin resistance in susceptible people.

Theres a lot to it but basically insulin is the hormone that allows cells to use glucose for energy. Glucose is essentially stored energy in your body. So your cells become resistant to insulin an your body is forced to produce more to compensate . Over time the cells will lose the ability to use glucose so it can accumulate in the blood. Also to much insulin can lead to cholesterol deposits in the arteries and high blood pressure.

Next thing you know NBA had Type 2 diabetes . Well thats typically associated with obesity and too much insulin.If your buying your juice from the grocery store,your not getting a pure product. Even if it were ,its still a simple carbohydrate.

64 ounces? Your in good shape in my opinion. If you dont get stomach pain from it then your alright. You cant overdose on vitamin C. C is water soluable and your body only absorbs what it can and the rest is pissed or shit out. I agree with Fryrice that you have to be carefull with sugars though. But 64 ounces is not that much if your a healthy average sized adult.

Find an OJ that is not over processed. Florida's Natural Growers (I happen to work with their headquarters in Lake Wales FL. They are the most enthusiastic group of people you'd ever meet. They'd love you knowing how much OJ you consume) Anyway, they have some great products without any added sugars or garbage.

On average, insulin spikes at about (35 grams) or 150 calories of sugar.

ya'll drink alot of juice! damn, i might have two glasses a day of some kind of juice...then water and gatorade the rest of the day.

you know its funny all these healthy drinks out from coke and pepsi like the lipton green tea shit when yet still the second ingredient is high fructose corn syrop which is about as healthy and sitting down with a bag of sugar and a spoon

Isnt that funny? That processed sugar is really not too good for you. Ive been drinking this vitamin water lately. Only the white one. The rest taste like shit. The reason I drink it is because its low in sodium. For years I was drinking Gatorade. I drank nothing else. I started having stomach issues and heart palpitations. To make a long story short, I think it had to do with the high amounts of salt in the Gatorade. No doctor or anyone told me Gatorade was bad but I knew something I was consuming was causing it. I do have other health issues but the Gatorade was triggering something. Anyway, I stopped drinking it and have had a HUGE reduction in problems.

IDK, maybe its because I dont get enough exercise and the sodium and stuff builds up in my system. I never sweat. I just dont know. All I know is I feel better when I dont drink the shit.
