I gave him some advice to the best of my ability and was wondering if you had anything too add to it.

I worked in an ID clinic so I had to have some ability for new Patients..

Anytime...I'm not all that great with advice....Except signs to look out for when your marriage is having trouble...i.e. Finding a book titled Marriage and Divorce in the Bible in the wife's car...lol That was my sign...lol

I'm sorry but it takes a while for a dog to get redlisted... and if he found the dog he can pick it up... and if it was in a shelter for that long, and he had put out the fact he was looking for his dog they would have contacted him. Law says 2 weeks for the owner to claim before it can be adopted and I believe 2 months before it can be put down. And even then to be put down that quickly it would have be either really old and injured or fatally injured or a dog that is seriously dangerous. I've volunteered at even high what are considered "high" shelters before and there is a LOT of consideration that going into putting a dog down. If he found his dog he should go pick it up...

I dunno maybe I don't understand the circumstances but something seems a bit off to me.

Lets think about this from a logical point of view.

The gov't funds the prisons. Associations and such fund the animal shelters. Limited space, and limited funds.

Thats why.

Do many people agree with it? No. Do I completely agree with it? No. But you have to look at things from a realistic point of view, and a logical one, instead of goin with gut emotions. Trust me. You won't get as far as you think.
