1) No

2) Yes

3)Yes - Because whether people want to admit it or not, peoples smoking addiction takes a economic toll on our health care system and society in general. Which means non smokers have to help pick up the tab. Obviously that is not fair. This is a very reason health insurance companies ask you if you smoke or have ever smoked. They know your a risk.

When someone gets lung cancer or emphysema ,we all have to pay for it through higher health care costs. Which means non smokers have to work harder and longer to pay for it. Its a domino effect.

Or me having to get my suit dry cleaned because of someones second hand smoke tainted it (yes taint) ,and that costs money. Not to mention the health problems it can create for non smokers and children who have no choice in the matter. Theres a long list.

1.) No

2.) Yes

3.) Yes - I would be for banning smoking in all public places and such like

beaches and parks but not a complete ban because that would never work

and make things worse. I am also for a higher tax on cigarettes.

1. Do you smoke? yes

2.Do you have a problem when smokers smoke around you? no, unless i am eating

3..Would you be for or agaisnt banning smoking in California? Why?Why not? yes, it should be up to a person(s) to make their own descion with what they do. smoking restrictions is understandable, but over all banning is rediculous.

1. Do you smoke? No

2. Do you have a problem when smokers smoke around you? Outside, No. Inside, Yes

3. Would you be for or against banning smoking in California? Why? Why not? I wouldn't say it's necessary to ban smoking in ALL of Cali. Maybe just certain area's. Why? Because it affects the health of smokers as well as non smokers. and I hate the smell.

Do you smoke: Yes

Do you have a problem when smokers smoke around you: Yes while I'm eating or in poor ventilated areas. I'm more of a social smoker, not really hardcore.

Would you be for or against banning smoking in California? Why? Why not? I would be for banning it in most public places. The only places I really see that should permit smoking at bars. Like a law they have here...No smoking if more than 10% of your revenue is acquired by food, and of course private residence.

1. Do you smoke? No

2.Do you have a problem when smokers smoke around you? Sometimes depending on where i am and what i am doing.

3..Would you be for or agaisnt banning smoking in California? Why?Why not?
Against. because it is legal and i don't feel the government has the right to make it illegal in a state. they can say no smoking in building and such but to make it illegal to smoke outdoors is insane the government isn't meant to legislate such laws. if i am in a bar that people smoke and i don't like it i leave period.

1. Do you smoke? - Yes

2.Do you have a problem when smokers smoke around you? - It depends, I am an outside smoker. I don't smoke in my house or anyone elses house. I can't stand lingering clouds of smoke.

3..Would you be for or agaisnt banning smoking in California? Why? Why not? - I guess I don't know what you mean by "ban smoking in California". Do you mean ban smoking everywhere or just in public buildings? I can see banning smoking in public places like resturants, bars, malls, etc but there is no way they can ban smoking in your own residence and outdoors. That is a violation of your freedom. In Madison, WI a couple years ago they passed a law requiring local resturants and taverns to put in these $20,000+ air filtration systems. Cool, right? Wrong! 6 months after every business had these fancy systems in place, Madison passed a law banning smoking in public places which effectively screwed these businesses out of $20,000+ dollars. Other towns and cities near me have banned smoking at bars which has put many of them out of business. Smokers which seem to be the majority in this state started going to the bars on the outter edge of town that don't fall into the city regulations. Guess what happens when the businesses in town have no customers......

All you need in your life is more government involvement. How wonderful.

thats how i feel. its crap that the government doesn't like smoking so they raise taxes on it wtf is that about. even if you hate smoking you should be against the ban because who in their right mind wants the government telling you what you can and can not do in everything.

Exactly.

If the government bans smoking, guess what happens then. You need bylaws in place, and bylaws need bylaw enforcement officers. Which need offices, computers, office employees, etc. Great. More stupid government sinkholes to throw your tax dollars in to.

And then what's next after banning smoking? Beer? Fast cars? What else is bad for us that the government should 'save' us from?

The whole idea of living in a free democratic society is supposed to be that the individual has the right to choose. If you disagree with this, and believe the government should step in if people are hurting themselves, that's fine. That just means you believe in a socialist government, which is merely a thinly veiled form of communism.

The less the government gets involved in citizens lives, the better.

2.Do you have a problem when smokers smoke around you? No

3.Would you be for or against banning smoking in California? Why?Why not? I would be against a smoking ban in California. Do smokers know it's bad for them? Yes. Do they know it's bad for the people around them? Yes. And nobody knows better than smokers how expensive it is. The bottom line is this: the government once tried banning the production and sale of alcohol in this country. Not only did that not last, but it lead to an increase in related crime. I don't need the government telling me smoking is bad. I already know that, and I'll quit when I'm good and ready, not when some pasty old white guy in a political office somewhere decides to make it a law. Not to mention that such a ban could be viewed as unconstitutional.
