Aptera Concept Car: 330mpg, Under $20K

Aptera Concept Car: 330mpg, Under $20K

This new weird-looking half-egg-shaped concept car gets 330 mile-per-gallon. The Aptera concept car obtains that high-mpg efficiency with a fuel-sipping diesel engine lashed onto hybrid technology, coupled with its aerodynamics and 850-pound weight.

The Aptera's designer, Accelerated Composites, says the three-wheeled fuel miser will hit the road by the end of 2008 at a sticker price of less than $20K.

Did you read diesel engine? I think here in the USA, we are going to go to the diesel engine. I don't think this car will sell very good. To small and cost to much.

It's cool as hell though, my kids would freak out if they saw something like that on the road.

Imagine getting in a accident with that thing. But damn imagine a 5 gallon tank. You would have to fill up every other month.

That is a fake pic. You can see that the background is painted. I don't know what the effect of this vehicle is going to be though. I won't buy one I'll tell you that much. I could care less how much money I save.
