Well so today was off to a good start getting my car fixed, and finding the vacuum leak. So anyway, I was driving to physical therapy, and one of my bullitt sidescoops flies off my car, but I didn't know what it was, thought some plastic flew up off the road as I went over it.

Got to physical therapy went inside, got my arm massaged, stretched, for an hour and half, then I come back outside, get to the car, and realize my driver side sidescoop is missing. I'm like WTF? Then i remember that thing I thought came off the road, and realized it was my bullitt sidescoop flying off my car, cause I saw in it my sideview mirror.

So I drive back to Spring Hill, turn around at Port Royal Rd, get back on highway, turn the flashers on and I'm driving in the right lane slowly trying to find it. Get all the way to Peytonsville Rd, and nothing, and I remember seeing it fly off somewhere between Port Royal Rd and 840 Hwy, on 396/65. So frustrated, I turn around at Peytonsvile Rd, and head back towards Spring Hill. I'm doing 70 in the fast lane, and all of a sudden I see blue and red lights flashing behind me, and I'm like....great, just great. So I pull over, and Williamson County Sheriff comes up to passenger side, and tells me my tint is too dark, and I can't have the blue tinted license plate cover over my license plate. Asks for my DL, Ins, Registration. So I find it, he asks me why I was driving up and down 65 hwy between Peytsonville Rd and Spring Hill. Explain the situation to him, he looks on driver side, sure enough scoop is gone, so he's like ok, wait here, I'll be back...takes my stuff to Cop SUV, runs my name etc, comes back asks me if i have weapons or drugs in the car. Now I'm starting to really get pissed.

I tell him he needs to stop stereotyping me. He asks what that means. I say "I wasn't speeding, I was obeying all traffic laws, using my signals, had my headlights on (because of the rain), and you're pulling me over because my car has tinted windows, and a license plate cover? You're pulling me over for non-moving violations? you've got to be kidding me!"

He says "You gettin' an attitude with me boy?" I says "**** Right, cause you're stereotyping me just because I have window tint on a sports car, all of a sudden now I'm some kind of drug running, weapon toting thug"

"But to answer your question, I don't have any weapons or drugs, but I do have a crutch!!" He asks what the crutch is for...so I explain "I just moved here from Missouri at the end of August, was on my 5th day of the job, and fell off a balcony and broke my right hip and my right arm". Then I really had to try to hard to keep from laughing cause he asks "So are you working?" I say no "I'm on workmans comp" (i just told you i fell at work, you moron!).

So now he thinks I'm full of crap and says "If your arms broken how can you drive". I told him I broke it September 6, and that after 6 weeks it's not broken anymore, but it's pretty weak from not being used, hence the physical therapy".

By this time I'm completely getting aggravated, but trying hard not to show it.


So now he asks "Can I search the car"....so I say "For the love of God please do, whatever makes you happy". I grab my remote key and pop the trunk, and he's just lookin' at me with a small smile, I glare at him "Go look!", so he does, pulls up trunk mat looks under spare tire, etc, comes back opens driver side door looks under seats, in glove box, pulls down the rear seats. Finally he comes back and says "ok, here's your stuff back. I don't care if you have to take a razor or whatever, but you gotta get that tint off, cause it's just too dark, hell, I can't even see in the car. I'm letting you go with a warning this time, but if I catch you again, I'm writing you a ticket".

I says ok, and just agree with him so he'll leave, and finally he says "Be careful when you pull out, and walks back to his car.

Sorry Occifer, but if you think I'm taking a $185 tint job off just because you think you're gonna intimidate me, think again. I drove for almost a year in Kansas City, and never even had one cop say anything about it.

He can take a big flying suck at my forthright point of contact!!!!!!!!

he didn't do anything? he was talking to me like i was a damn drug dealing murderer. it was just the way he kept eyeing me suspiciously, and the talking down to me, and the tone of his voice....i hate that crap...just cause your a cop doesn't give you the right to treat people like dirt. and since when is going up and down the highway illegal? i can drive in a circle all day if i want, there's nothing wrong with that.

there are a million things worse that people do than having tint on their car. murder, robbery, stabbing, rape, molestation, and i could go on and on. so while this cop was pulling me over, someone in the same county was having one of the above crimes commited on them, and could have been prevented, but this cop was too busy trying to play hot shot, by harrassing a guy with a mustang that has window tint on it.

He ran my tag, which brings up my name, and so he can see all my prior criminal history (which happens to be zero, cause Ive never been arrested) so at that point he should know that there is a 99.999999999% chance that there are no weapons, drugs, or anything illegal in the car, so with this knowledge, all he's doing is being a jerk...plain and simple.

that is standard procedure, to ask about any type of weapons, and your demeanor when you tell him that hes profiling you, just gives more ammo for him to think that maybe you do have something to hide. he was simply doing his job. he isnt there to make you happy, hes there to do his job and most of all, keepo himself safe along wiht others

and this is the typical cop out. his job is to keep criminals off the street, but his job also entails keeping the laws of the road upheld, and your tint being too dark is illegal wether you think so or not. no its not murder but it is still illegal.
your right, theres probably a good chance you didnt have any drugs, weapons or anything liek that, but the attitude you gave gives some question that maybe you do have something to hide. he is simply watching out for his own safety. that is standard police procedure. your a tard man, own up to your mistakes and be thankful he didnt drop the hammer on you cuz he could have and from the sounds of, probably should have. i know if it was me who pulled you over and i got the attitude, you would have gotten both tickets plus probably a couple other little things im sure i could find wrong if i wanted to get real technical, and i would have searched and searched and questioned and youd have been on the side of the road with 3-4 other officers there. that would have ruined your day.

most people come on here to bitch about cop when in reality, ITS YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT, YOU BROKE THE LAW, THE COP WAS DOING HIS JOB. and this is nothing to get all upset about.. I don't know if asking about those things is typical for you, but around here no one asks unless theres reason to and thats policy. Had he POLITY brought up the fact he was being stereotyped it may not have been such a bad thing. I got off on a $550 speeding ticket because when the officer pulled me over, he made a comment about the fact that I was woman who could drive a standard. Sexiest comment. I told him he was being sexiest and the ticket wouldn't stand in court, he apologized, told me I was right, and tore up the ticket

But I agree its good to be nice to cops, they put up with a lot of shit they really don't have to. But I agree pulling you over for a non moving violation is harsh... and I don't know how dark your tint is but if its just 35% well in the rain I can barely tell the different between that and 20.

I do not blame you for being pissed mixedbreed. It is kinda funny when a white person is pulled over there is usually 1 squad car; but when a black or mexican person is pulled over there are usually at least 2 squad cars, one is a K-9, and the person is usually out of the vehicle. Police are a perfect example of how power corrupts.
