I just found out my car has a dent on the passenger side headlight... FUCK!

I hate hit and runs, especially when its on an area that I think its almost impossible to fix.

$3000 worth in damage??? I think it would be cheaper to find some used panels and doors and have them painted to match.

Just had a talk with my old man.

He said he was going to give me one free one since and he was expecting an accident like this and he was going to give me one freebie.

But, if it ever happens again. That's a different story.

He's paying the costs out of pocket so we won't report anything to the insurance agency and no cops were called. That way I never have to site an accident when I fill out insurance forms.

All I can say is thank god.

Fairline, what the hell happened man? That looks bad.

My Buick Century is what I crashed. It only had 27,000 miles on it too.

I know that this is a scary time when that happens but if it ever happens to anyone else or something like that... roll down the window... stick your head out it... and try to get some cold air back in to help un-fog the window...

I have had that window thing happen.
Had a kid in my blind spot though, scared me shitless.

The Torino crash happened when my brand new $550 Speed Demon 750
stuck at 35mph. Like a dumbass I didn't shut it down I tried pulling on the
pedal and nothing happend I slammed on the brakes but the 460 kept me
moving. When I let off the car surged and I panicked. I do recall hitting
the key but it was after I blipped the gas trying to free up the linkage
(had an old car that worked on-kind of a bad habit) I blipped-it stuck at
WOT. I slapped the OEm shifter into N but it must have nicked reverse
cause the ass end spun around and hit the tree. I got knocked out by the
pass seat and the car took off Fwd into the pole. I woke up just before
impact I had 5 staples in my head and a bunch of stitches in my ear and
eyebrow.

After I got the salvage I unhooked everything from the carb. It was still
stuck. I pulled on the throttle shaft and it snapped back to idle and never
stuck (by hand) again.

I have talked to a lot of guys on forums and a few have found metal
shavings in new Barry grant carbs. I think the throttleshaft picked up a
burr somwhere. Can't prove it. Lawyer said blow it off, BG never returned
my calls and I crushed the carb with a sledge hammer and tossed it.

The car was perfect. AZ, rust free 4 year build. I still miss it bad.
All it needed was better wheels. I have to admit I am Ok with it as I had just dropped off my kid before it happened.

Sorry for the attn whorish hijack man. Glad to hear your Pops is being reasonable and that no one died. I was lucky too.

That's okay, it's good to hear that other people crash cars too because yeah, it makes me feel like I'm not the only idiot that trashes his car.

Hey wolfman, glad to hear your old man backed off a bit. I could see him taking that route had you been racing or something, but it was just an accident, and we've all had them.
