89.50 an hour shop labor??????


is a shops labors rates usually for everything they do? or just soley engine work like lets say if i wanted them to fix my headlight which isnt getting no power and it will tkae them 2 hours


am i going to pay 180 bucks for this task?

i thought labor was $60 an hour?

my pops had a garage and he used to charge 40 an hour

im asking a question like is this 89.50 an hour rate at this shop for anything they do do you guys think or just engine work?



because i can fix the light myself but i know it probably will ground out again

For a lot of really easy jobs, some shops will discount the labor rate... but thats only some. You should ask about the labor rate for that specific task...

depends where you go for work

the average is $90 an hour

our shop is $85 an hour depending on whats getting done

but they average from $50-200

anything lower then $70 or so might try to screw you

i'm lucky with my mech..

he is like umm lets see i did this and this.. the ligth were easy to fix but puting a new clutch kit in was a lil work.. 100 bux it is...

lol my mech is really cheap but he know his stuff and i never had a prob with him..

besides if theres no cash he is like "nah its ok pay when you can"

Learned that the hard way...I was at a muffler shop getting some dumps made and had them welded to my mufflers. hour and a half later he said that'll be $125, it would have been more but i didnt give you a quote when you walked in...I was seriously looking at spending 50-60 at the most! lol

Now i ask locals if they'll do some welding for me before i go spend that kind of money!
