the guy who got me the equipment measured it
* 600 watts continuous, 1200 watts peak power handling * 16mm Xmax (one-way linear excursion) * Optimized for small sealed enclosures * Reversible trim ring allows driver to be mounted facing either way with style * Proprietary die-cast aluminum baskets for rock solid assembly * Vented spider landing provides forced-air cooling for the 2.5" voice coil assembly * Wide nitrile butyl rubber surrounds allow more excursion at low frequency * One-piece frosted ultra-rigid polypropylene cones * Custom rubber magnet cover protects motor assembly * Nickel-plated spring-loaded speaker terminals those are the specs on my subs..... |

Remember part of this is shit is more expensive in Canada, but here's the main reason. And this is not a shot at your system. But I promise you if you sat in it you would understand why. I tried making a couple of videos, but the little digicam didn't really pick up on how it sounds. A 1200 watt amp, but what brand? And what model of what brand? Is it one ohm stable? Does it have built in multi stage crossover networks? What brand subs? And what model? Some guys say "Oh, I have Fosgate subs." Great, except for the fact that you can buy about 4 different levels in each brand. Fosgate for example will sell you a pos 12" that will detonate in about 2 hours the way I use it. I'm running a 1500 watt Clarion mono block amp that is running at 1 ohm, and putting out around 2000 watts. I'm also running a 4 channel Clarion that puts out 640 watts. My subs are the top of the line Alpine Type X's, dual voice coil, and can handle 3000 watts of peak power & 1000 watts rms. I run two 10's in these. These are worth about 400 bucks up here. Each. My front stage consists of two 500 watt Pioneer shallow mount 8" subs, and a Rockford Fosgate FNQ component set that you can't even get anymore. This consists of two 6'5" midbass, two tweets, and two crossovers. These alone were 800 dollars. There is also a Rockford Fosgate Punch-X crossover in the game to further separate proper frequencies and send them to the proper spealers/subs. Can't remember what that cost, I think it was a couple hundie. My head unit is a multi color touch screen unit with 3 sets of 5v preouts (to feed more juice to the amps), built in crossover networks, and Sirius satellite radio. (My 07 was one of the first built, and thus missed the cut-off date for being able to order SIrius factory) It was 600 bucks. My sub box was custom measured by my professional installer, and made not only for proper volume within the enclosure, but was measured to fit the contours of the floor. The plans were then sent to a man in Toronto who does nothing but cut sub boxes on a multi million dollar CNC machine. It was such a tight fit, we had to have it in two pieces, and assemble it from within the car. All of this equates to labor. I'm also running a 10 farad capacitor to ease the load on the charging system and provide quicker juice. 500 bucks. My 200 amp fuse and fuse holder for this system was 80 bucks alone, and I can't remember the price of all the proper gauge wiring. It's one thing to say you can hit x amount of db. It's another to be able to say you can hit 140 like me, and still have it be crystal clear while waves of air are blasting past your cranium. I could be lying, but hey, you just have to take my word for it I guess. lol Here's those vid clips. I did my best to hold the digicam steady, but the bass was fighting me. I probably had it up too loud and overwhelmed the little mic's on her. lol Well, the sound went for a shit on them during the PB encoding process, cause my originals still sound normal. Go figure. lol At least you get to see my nasty hand. ![]() ![]()

Well the sound crapped out on the second vid, but you can see how much it's bouncing...and that's with me holding the camera down on the console and squeezing it tightly with both hands. lol |

i live off a main road that leads to a parkway half a mile away. I live across the streat from outback steakhouse as well as a 7/11 on my corner 100 feet from my bedroom window. if it's not me making noise it's 1 of the other 10,000 people that make noise by my apartment everynight. whether windows opened or closed my walls shake 100 times a night and 2000 times a day. Fuckem, can't beat em, join em! and i was also refering to ur driving |

lol I live in a nice quiet neighborhood. And I wasn't driving when I shot that, unless you're referring to my silly test drive. That was done in the middle of a week day when all the kids were at school and everyone was at work, and I didn't really punch it all that hard. Much. lol

i live in a nice quit neighborhood too. My apartment complex absorbs all the sound so the residental area behind it doesnt hear it.
its cool though. I'm a car guy. i like hearing them come n go. Every once n a while i catch a sweet race too. There's a stoplight right next to my window.
