They said they could fix it. 1030.00 he ask if i wanted him to fix it or get a new quarter panel, which would cost more. He said a lot of people might want a new one. he said but with a new one he has to cut factory welds and stuf

and im paying for it myself. my ded is a 1,000 anyway.

If your ded is 1000 I would go for the new 1/4 panel. Is he talking about bondoing the old one and painting it or what for 1k?

Yea he said he can reshape it and bond it and paint it. for 1000. The thing about getting the new is that he said he would have to cut factory welds and re-weld and there is still going to be bonding just in a different place. What do you think?

have the dent popped, most of these bondo guys think its invincible, but its not it shrinks cracks and dont hold paint as well.

Well he said he would pop the dent by drilling some holes in it and using some magnets. The bondo would be for the holes he drills to pop it i guess?

nay u spot weld to fill the little holes u make then u grind it all smooth then u use a very very thing layer of bondo to bring back any of the body line or panel that didnt quite make it back to its original place. and like i said if its a good body guy he will use such a tiny ass amount of bondo u probably wont even know he put it on. if its a horrible body guy and he uses a whole shit load pf bondo the shit is going to look fuckin horrible after a year and its been through the seasons.

Yea you know your shit. That is basically what he said he would do. So you think i should go that route? Cuase he was saying if he replaces it. he still has to weld and stuff.

I mean this guy has done work on my company vehicles before so he does good work. This is just my stang and not some ford ranger you know what i mean,

yah go that rout provided he is a good guy sounds like he isn't a retard. and he is correct the sn95 NE sn95 and the s197 all have rear quarter panels that are spot welded on. and a PITA to remove but it CAN be done if needed. which is still nice cuz alot of new cars its all part of the unibody and cannot be replaced with out hacking and slashing with an angle grinder. Pontiac is really bad for that.
