I used a sharpie to reblack the top. It fades in about a month but it looks better than it did. Im such a cheap sob

I used this stuff in a spray paint can, called Night Shades...its spray on tint that actually looks good...the coats you spray on the darker it gets...i did it on mine. check out my pics. Looks black during the day, but at night the light shines right through like theres never been anything put on there.

I bought a nice L.E.D. 3rd brake light assy for my Cobra off Ebay for cheap and it looks really good. Waaaaay better than the faded red stock light. IMO. I'd go that route.

im with the people who say get the black vinyl...thats ur best bet...u can prolly just order vinyl the size of the top of brake light and trim it to fit exactly
