I gotta recover the pos now...

it has given me so many problems, its been thru 2 hard drives, mem is full when i have almost a gig of ram and says im only using 256 and its slow as fuck

the thing is just shot

i got reload several times in order to task bar an my icons to appear

so its done

any future computer buyers, *DONT BUY COMPAQ*

it may be cheap but you'll regret it

are you sure you have the right ram? it could fit the slot but be the wrong mghz or how ever thier rated or your mother board might only recognize up to 256mb

they were fucked before then... but its not only compaq you have to watch everyone when it comes to computers you cant just buy because of the brand now expesially with vista everyone tries to get by with the bare minimums or below and i have yet to see a computer run vista properly even with double or triple the requirements... its still slow and laggy... guess thats always gonna happen though when mircosoft comes out with something new and more powerful because at first no one really knows what it will take to run if it's a whole new style operating system (bein 64bit and all)... plus they try and share the computers ram with the graphics ram which is total b.s. just to make it cheaper...

anyway, I have never had one issue with my Macs.

I have that setup at work. At home I have a mini and my maxxed out iBook.
I have an external drive for backing up. 500Gig. its really worth it to have one.
I did have a funky issue due to some bad RAM. I replaced it, did a restore and install on the OS and dumped my files back on. No issues since for 5 years. not one virus. ever.

I'm kind of a mac snob but its only cause they work. I like em. Plus even with a soft case they are apparently pretty damn durable
