Well A Better Idea Than A Turbo
Ok. I didn't want to mention it but I was thinking about turbo charging my 5.0. I got to thinking about it and how in efficient even turbos are (compressor efficiencies of about 80% at best).
Since a turbo's function is to pressurize incoming air and force it into the upper motor, and turbos are driven by high pressure exhaust gas created from the combustion process, couldn't I just bypass the turbo altogether and route my headers back into the throttle bodies? I could balance the DEI (direct exhaust injection as I just coined it) by feeding one header into each throttle body. The air would just keep re-circulating. Yes, the charge air wouldn’t be that cold, but it would be under a hell of a lot more pressure. I attached a quick sketch below: What do you guys think? good idea or no?

No. On a turbo the exhaust runs the turbine which turns the compressor which is pumping in filtered compressed air. You can't just run your filthy hot exhaust straight back into your engine.

Actually this was used in the first high altitude world war one airplanes. They simply filtered the exhaust and had an oxygen injector. This is where the idea for a turbo actually originated.
Congrats you have reverse engineered.

just think about it, the gas comes out and goes right back in, add more fuel and more gas is made, then keep adding more fuel cuz more gas is being made its unlimited power

what about an oxygen or air tank plummed into your tb? would be like nos but cheaper and you could get a compressor on the car and stay filled all of the time

well i guess im here to prove everyone wrong.....I am already running this setup and its perfect. There is zero emissions and i rarely have to fill up i just tune it to run rich and recycle the fuel, I tried to dyno it but the dyno couldnt hold the power. The car destroyed the dyno and i had to ask my uncle Gates to pay for the damages how do yall feel now.....pretty dumb huh?
