I'm an E-3 in the Air Force, only been in about 7 months. I had college credit so I've been E-3 since the day I enlisted. Never even thought about owning a Mustang until I picked up an '89 5.0 last weekend for $1900, couldn't pass it up.

hey guys im still thinking about enlisting in the Coast Guard...im working on completing my fire technology as. degree. how much (if at all) does it benifit to have prior schooling before enlisting?

Army National Guard here, should have gone active.
i think im the lowest rank. E-2 working my way up from the bottom like it should be. been in for a year.

should get you to E-3 right out of boot. depending on how the Coast Guard does it. just don't let your recruiter brush that to the side. i have a friend in the Navy who has a bachelors degree and came in as an E-1. (he wasn't eligible for any officer programs at the time he came in so he enlisted) but, his recruiter told him he would be an E-3 right off the bat. this would have been true had his recruiter gotten all of the necessary transcripts and paperwork from his college. just make sure they take care of you.
