k i just have a quick question

what kind of player do you need to have to play the audio or video data that you have in memory storage on a CD?

my friend has a flip-out DVD player in his car and he has well over 100 songs on his CD and he can just scroll through them.. he even put them in folders for easy access (of course its a touch screen)

so im just wondering, is it only those touch screens and computers that can read the data?

no alot of other, most, cd players can read mp3s burned as data to a cd. you can fit a shit ton more on a cd that way.

To play the audio files you are thinking of it has to be capable of playing mp3 files. To play the video data on a cd/dvd, the player has to be able to read files like mpeg/divx/avi.

none of the dvd players in my house play them, and it says plays mp3 on it..

You're saying the mp3 players in your house won't play actual mp3 files? Cuz you know they won't play vid files.

Also, are the songs on the disk burned in mp3 format? Maybe they're burned in another format such as wav or something.

And when you burn them, maybe you burned them to fast. Sometimes slowing down the write speed will yield better results.

Sometimes different disks will also give different results. I had an mp3 capable head unit in a car that would not read mp3's burned on to quality Sony disks. But when I burned them on to a different, cheapo brand, they worked.

And lastly, sometimes the laser in a player can weaken over time, causing it to have problems reading certain formats.

Yeah this doesn't mean shit. The laser in your mp3 player in the house will be different than the one in your pc drive.
