I just think KITT needed to be something futuristic and a retro Mustang just doesn't fit the concept. Some of the articles suggest there will be special editions based on this which I assume means having the option of a stuntman dressed up as a seat and an interior that changes from digital to stock on a scene by scene basis . You'll presumably have a keyless entry option in the shape of a watch you can talk to "Open up buddy" .

Well, it's a helluva lot cheaper than a Bell 222 for about the same retro TV series look. Actually, I think the new KITT Mustang has more wing surface area than Airwolf ever did....

You're right about a retro Mustang not fitting the concept, but that looks like the GT500KR hood and Ford's prolly trying to go on a marketing push looking for sales next year before the 2009-10 series. Besides, it's not like GM played by the book with Bumblebee in Transformers....

At least they're not using Hasselhoff.

Well since the Delorean's production ended in 1983 and Back in the Future was made in 1985 I don't think the movie affected the production of a car that was no longer produced nor did it hurt the TransAm that lasted almost another 20 years?

Oh no, I'm surrounded by secret movie and TV geeks with nowhere to run!!

Aha! But the Mustang outsold the TA by NOT featuring in Knight Rider. QED. Who knows, it could have been the cause of the death of the F-Body.....

The DeLorean is being produced again so I'm glossing over that technical, well-made point and don't intend to let facts get in the way of a poorly-reasoned conclusion.

Get used to it on MM. lol I'm 48 and the fresh aggresive young attitudes on MM is why I stay here as opposed to those other mustang sites.

Thanks for the Comps on the stripes -- I'm 28 so I'm right behind you -- no need to feel old at 30 -- I'm just really having a hard time remembering the show

I f'ing love knight rider. I have a knight rider tee shirt (Sign of a true fan) . Damn straight they are using a mustang. Sales are going to go up because of the show. The Question is... Will the show last more than 3 episodes, or a season?

Yeah that is a good question. From the press release it sounds like all they've signed off on so far is the 2 hour pilot episode (and the characters are already getting on my nerves, lol).

But yeah, I do think the show will help sell more Mustangs. As successful as the Mustang is right now, I know plenty of people who have never noticed the redesign since 2005... they all really like it and certainly weren't fans of Mustangs before. Heck, I only found out about it a little over a month ago from the review of the 08 Bullitt on Edmunds and Car UK.

When I first saw your post i thought it was just a car that looked like it. Now i see on the home page that the show is comeing out with the stang. Wonder what the voice on the stang will sound like????? A hot chick maybe. Hopefully not the sissy sounded pencil neck geek that was on the first kit.
