Anyone good with Electronics?

OK, so i bought an HDtv about a month ago and i just got the HDMI cable with it yesterday. Im having some problems though.

I can't watch switch view modes, it only lets me use widescreen or auto expand. All the other view modes are there, but i can't hi light or select them.

After fiddling with the cable box a few times, I got it to work last night. This mornging I was watching it, and all of a sudden........pfft, couldn't switch view modes anymore.

Any help would be appreciated

Im not sure how the HDMI cable would have anything to do with that??

sounds like an issue with the cable box to me.

It's not the cable, I know its not. Its a setting on the box or tv that needs to be switched over so they can comuunitcate with eachother properly. When I had everything hooked up to the complonent wires, everything worked fine.

What type (Brand of box is it?)

Sometimes there is a button on the remote for the CABLE BOX that is NOT marked but does control your widescreen/Zoom etc. Try the # button or * button. Check your remote guide or call your cable company and ask them.

If its the TV, go back through the setup and see if there is a setting for the screen.

Im totally guessing but you probably turned your box off last night before you wnet to bed. When you turned the cable back on this morning, it went back to the default setting.

Just ideas...

i would have just stuck with the component.

but you might want to check the setting on the cable box itself and see ifyou have it setup to transmit throught the HDMI. you will still get audio and video, but some boxes make you set it on HDMI
