What camera?

I want a new camera... and i need to know how much to save up for one...

Its currently a toss up between the Canon SD1000 and the Canon SD750

the 1000 is apparently a little older but its basically the exact same as the 750 the 750 has a few more features... and there is a 50 dollar price difference... not like that matters cause a fucking tank of gas cost 50... grr

what cameras do you guys have/recommend?

In our house we have:

Canon Rebel XTi 10mp SLR

Canon Powershot 8mp W/10x optical zoom

Canon Powershot S5 IS 8mp W/12x optical zoom

All are amazing units.

The Rebel XTi SLR in a kit with an 18-55mm lens with IS is about 600-700 bucks.

The Powershot SX 100 my wife has is about 300-350 bucks.

The Powershot S5 IS I own is about 350-400 bucks.

All shoot amazing quality pictures, particularly the Rebel XTi.

It depends what you're looking for. If you want something good that you can snap a few pics on go w/ a rebel. However Nikon > Canon But only go with Nikon if you want an SLR digital. They have 2 SLRs in the $500-800

Nikon USA: D40x (body only)

That's the D40x

Nikon USA: D40 Kit

The D40

Nikon USA: D80 (body only)

The D80

Personally I used a D300 to do most of my work. (Nikon USA: D300 (body only) cause I know you want to look @ the sexiness Zip!)

What is your price range? Do you want an SLR digital? Are you interested in various lenses? What kind of photography do you want to do?

If I can make a suggestion, OMU:

If you wish to have a 'small' point and shoot digital, that's fine, and with todays sensors and processors, even a 'small' 7mp point and shoot will take amazing images.

But you won't be happy with 3x optical zoom. If you can find it and afford it, go for something with more optical zoom. And btw digital zoom doesn't count, so don't add that in. Optical zoom is what matters.
