Anyone use Itunes?

Okay so i got about 200songs on mine and about 30 videos. Is there any way I can delete this crap off my computer and it not delete it off my ipod whenever I plug it in?. Cause last night I deleted all the music off my computer because it was already on my ipod. well this morning I plugged in my ipod to add more music and it deleted everything off of it, and made it have the same files I had on my Itunes...

yes... you have to switch the ipod to manual update rather than automatic.

So I can switch it to manual and pop in a cd and then transfer it to my ipod and not have it screw me over?.

Just put in the cd

DO NOT HIT SYNC.

drag the songs from the cd onto the ipod (in itunes).

Just set it to manual sync, then rip the songs off the CD, then drag them individually to the iPod.

but as soon as you want to put the songs onto your ipod, its gonna delete all of them off your ipod, the songs have to be in the library for it to keep them on the ipod when you sync

thats why you dont sync.. you can drag songs on it and it will put them on and not fully sync

no, if you drag and drop it won't delete the songs in the ipod... but I have 800GB of space in my PC, so I really don't worry about it

oi i didnt know you could drag and drop in there and get songs on the pod without syncing it up, but what about when he needs to doa firmware upgrade or something like that?

firmware upgrade doesn't delete anything, it just updates the firmware... now, if you do a restore, that'll wipe your ipod clean

I didn't know about it either, but my friend came over the other day and i guess his comp crashed, so he wanted to get some music but not delete the stuff he already had, so he did that.
