How do I keep my pics from looking like this?

Use a lower ISO setting???

do you want the car to stand out more?? or what?

You could change the ISO around a bit but when you raise it usually you get a bit more noise which no one likes

also you can change the exposure amount, but that might make it look worse...

his shot is compossed differently... he has the light to his back and he has a more light in the shot... you have your sun off to the side and it was darker out so your ISO went up a bit to compensate for the different lighting conditions... lower your ISO but it will make the image look a little differnt... darker if im not mistaken
