Calling all Musicians

Ok. im a very new budding guitarist. In my meager collection i have a mexican made Fender strat which was my first guitar. My original Crate amp ( that i got used from a friend of a friend) blew up last year so when i went shopping for a new one. Somehow the salesmen put a Schecter C1 Elite in my hands and i instantly fell in love with that guitar so i brought it home along with my Peavy Valve King 112 Tube amp.

Now the dilema im currently Facing. My mother runs the sales dept for a company that produces Circuit boards. One of her customers is Gibson Guitars. They were having a problem with a new board for one of their new guitars that they couldnt fix so my mom's engineers fixed it for them free of charge and produced the board for them.

To thank her for going the extra mile they have offered her. Her choice of any gibson guitar she wants. Excluding the guitar of the week and a true *custom* .

Im leaning towards getting a Les Paul but having a hard time really deciding what i want. The new Robot guitar ( self tuning/self innotating) looks quite nice for a new guitarist. But theres also a great draw towards a nice Les Paul Standard or a Les Paul Studio as well.

If you all had the to make a decision on what Free Gibson you would take what would you choose and why?
heres the gibson site to look thro the guitars
Gibson Acoustic, Electric and Bass Guitar Accessories, Slingerland Drums, Baldwin Pianos and Band Instruments

les paul classic custom is the best man, it is a casino with p-90's and sounds like pure sex, or if you want an acoustic the sj-45 I have a 56 and love it and the one they just remade is really nice

LES PAUL FTMFW!!

I can tell you from personal experience. You will NOT be dissapointed. I can make a 10 watt Marshall sound like a tube amp with this thing.

I got the studio if that helps

SGs are very neck heavy and like to fall out of your lap when playing sitting down.
Explorers are just about im possible to play comfortably while sitting down

also on a side note, the Les Paul studios are lighter than the les paul standard. not sure why exactly but they are by about 3-5lbs

See, thats the kind of input i was looking for. None of the local stores near me have any of these. And they are just going to ship one to us from the factory so any real world opinions are helpfull.

I have decided to pass on the robot guitar, I think i have it down to a LP Supreme or Standard Premium Plus, or a SG Supreme. gonna try to find a music store that has a couple of these on the wall for me to try out before we have to make a decision on which to get

nice, whatkind of sound do you want, cause every les paul edition has a different sound from a grungy humbucker overtone to a mellow single or push pull tap system that lets notes ring real clear
