need a wireless card

My Laptop came out just before they started making all of them wireless. Can anyone suggest a good one I can use so that I can advantage of free internet in certain public places? I have a Lynksis router built in to my house but I have it connected by a wire to my laptop.

get a Lynksis wireless card for you laptop...i have one for mine and i can use it in different places that have wifi and shit

yeah i have had alot of luck with it and it has a really good signal....

it only hasnt worked at like two places that i tryed it..

make sure you have that size port. there are two diff sizes. a skinny one and a wider one.

also get one for your speed. if your running 5g or 2.5g internet get a card that fast

Im only going to use it on the road away from home. I have high speed in my house through our cable system. I dont know what the speed is but its very fast... at least for me. I have a wireless router for the house but I have a hookup right here by my laptop. So when Im in the house its just as easy to plug in.

I also have a Sprint wireless card but I told them to fuck off because it only worked in certain places and the service fee was like $40 a month with my work discount. I wish there was a way to make the Sprint card I have work like the linksis card without a subscription service.

i was gonna get a fly card. but they say if you use it out of service are too much then theyll boot ya. so i said

my laptop has a built in wifi card with a switch for 5g or 2.5g. i havent ran into a 5g yet though. i also have 2.5 at my house.

wifi sucks sometimes though. ive had place where you have to call the motel people every day and tell them to reset the router. then they wanna argue and say its my laptop. but my co-worker has the same problems! it gets to be a hassle sometimes.

the laptops with the wireless aren't even as good as the regular wireless g card that doc has, the tend to put weak ones in there to cut the cost down.

mine seems to be pretty good. the only advantage ive seen with the external is that they have an antennae. while mine doesnt really have any surface area for the antenna

yeah they work good, some depending on the brand tend to be a little weaker than the regular cards that you would buy, the only one with an actual good card in it is the new sony viao it comes with a wireless N built in.
first i've ever seen to have that.

haha, nah man it's the newest type of wireless internet.
still 802.11 just instead of 802.11b or g
it's N it's the fastest and has the longest range of any of it's predicesors (sp?) and i think yours might have it, was it one of the ones with the best intel dual core, 2 gigs of ram, and you could customize which color you wanted?
also i've never used N but it's capable of being a full gigabit wireless and one of the routers can even project the signal something like 10,000 square feet is i remember right.
