My trip to Georgia

As Joe, myself. 03OBRA, and 89IROCZ are taking a nice trip to the track we come along a group of cars going about 40mph in a 55mph zone. So we pass as anyone would do(all 4 of us at the same time). Then we come to a truck hauling a tractor going about 45mph in a 55mph zone. So we all pass again. Some where in the mix one of the cars we pass calls the cops and says that we are drag racing. We are coming into a small town going 35mph and this cop comes flying out of a side street with the loud speaker on telling the "Mustangs" to pull over. So we do and he is not happy makes us get out of the cars and put our hands on 03OBRA's trunk. Runs the plates all of our licenses. A state trooper pulls up we are getting a little nervous at this point. We think we are going to jail. Then he starts in on someone called in a said " that we were racing". Then telling us we are doing illegal passing and we have illegal license plates. He could take us to jail and charge us a $1000 dollar fine. Not a good situtaion to be in for all of us. He even yelled at V a little. It was funny after it happened but damn thought I was going to jail. Joe you are gonna have to come down to Florida next time. Thanks for the hospitality.

P.S. If I missed any parts someone fill in for me. I'm a little tired.

They had the things that go around your plate. Joe's said Supercharged Mustang GT. I was the only one that didn't have one. You can't have those in the state of Georgia apparently.

it was a little nerve racking, but we had fun. thanks to joe and v for the invite, hopefully next year we will be able to stay the night w/ ya and get our party on. next time, we will have to go in winter or late fall.

Joe, i finally got an 11 sec run on my last run, i'll post the vid for ya!

It is commonplace in EVERY state for police to make the laws as they go to fit their situation. I know, I tow for the City and state police all the time. I got pulled over in my V6 for illegal exhaust. Funny thing was, I had stock exhaust at the time and he said it was not because of my Chrome "modified" 3' tip that made it "non-emissions legal"

Which I had purchased at Wal Mart two weeks prior.

I will remember the biggest dick in Georgia for the rest of my life don't you worry about it Roscoe. He was yelling at us on the side of the road I kind of wanted to laugh after I found out why he stopped us. Its all Joe's fault anyway he was the "leader of the group"

So the cop said.

LOL! they must know joe and his car down there huh? that is hilarious. i have been pulled over probably 5-6 times in less than a year all for illegal modifications and my car is legal (including tint- exempt from law). so when i get pulled over, i laugh at the cops, pull out my exemption forms, and have a great day. i respected cops until they began to harrass me and pull me over on a monthly basis to "check up on me"

that cop is an ass! I will be remming his ass off when I get to work tonight. He had no right yelling at me. (by the way, I wouldnt pass those 3 cars they passed, so I got left in the wind!)

Wish I wasnt so hung over at the time.. I was still having the effects of friday night!! HAHA! (thanks bacon and stangmang!) haha

Me and joe are both from ga and have never heard of the plates being illegal. I have one that says "my work number is 911" and have never gotten in trouble for it, in fact I was given that from the sheriffs office!!

I've heard.. < dont know for sure> but I've always been told to watch it in Ga. they pick on out of state drivers.. however your from there so i guess that dont work..

It was lots of fun guys, All three are a class act - great group of folks.

Glad to hear you got your 11 dude, it sucks that we all know the cars got at least mid 11's in it on street tires, maybe even better. With cooler weather your gonna be trapping in the mid 120's... dude thats a sick ass car. Even sicker is that it sounds nearly stock! Nothing like having 650+ flywheel hp sitting under the hood and no-one else being the wiser.

Can't wait to do it again.

PS - to add injury to insult, I either broke a control arm or busted a torqe box... not sure yet.

Thats not a good thing to hear Joe. Your car was still fast as hell and it was broke. I have yet to see a GT leave the line like yours does. That thing is sick. We are definately going to have to do it again.
