Sad Day
I just had my first encounter with a "riced" Mustang. Now ordinarily I feel that people should have the right to do to their cars what they want, but this was sad. The unfortunate vehicle was a 2006 Mustang GT, with a body kit I'm not familiar with. None of this is the problem though. The poor pony had been lowered to the point that the bottom of the kit was about 2 inches from the ground. To make matters worse, it had had been painted a two-tone orange/blood orange color scheme, the blood orange on the hood and top of the fenders, running straight back along the bottom of the windows to the back of the car. The sides were painted orange. On top of that, running the general area of the change in paint, was a series of dark blue "waves" similar to the QuikSilver logo. And lastly, the taillights had been changed to chrome euro style, despite the fact that the car had no other chrome visible. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures, as I was driving by the parking lot to work, but I'm going to grab my camera tomorrow and see if I can get one to post. I just can't believe anyone would do that to a car. It brought to mind the line for the Clint Eastwood/Charlie Sheen movie The Rookie..."A real criminal is anyone that would paint a car like that a color like that." I wonder if I could get away with saying I strung him up to save the pony. It worked for horse thieves in Montana a hundred years ago.
