DOE's list of countries that export oil to us.

Canada is our #1 supplier.
Saudi Arabia is #2 and very few on the rest of the list are even in the middle east.

Would someone explain the gas prices to me again? I thought it was because of the friction in the Middle East.

This doesn't work as a link for me, from MM, so maybe you'll have to cut and paste.

ignorance is the main contributing factor in gas prices going up

ppl either don't know or don't care about supply and demand

canada sends us oil to refine. we cant keep up with demand with our out of date refineries, and lack there of refineries.

the dollar is steadily goin down and oil is steadily goin up, not only with our demand but other countries are growin very fast.

and alot of our oil comes from places like middle east and venezuala. they are all hostile countries and we have to protect our interest there which costs more money.

Isn't all oil sent to you guys in crude form, and thus needing refining?

But yeah. The main problem is not all the bullshit they spew to us in the media about war, or unrest, or because the wind blew the wrong way at the wrong time in some bumfuck country we've never even heard of, it's because we need more refineries. Why don't we have more refineries? You can thank Clinton for that. The actual former president, not the lunatic running presently. lol

What's that you ask? How is Captain Oval Blow Job Pants responsible for this? Ha! Well, I'm old, so I can't remember.

that cost quadruple what cars now cost to produce, and are a good way to blow yourself up, besides the fact that a new fuel cell will be needed every 4 years since they will breakdown and become radioactive, hydrogen cars are like hybrids good idea that will never work

wrong they already do work. i can't remember but iceland or greenland has an entire highway that encompasses the country that pioneered hydrogen car market. hygrogen cells are just as likely to blow as gas cells. and the filling stations are completely self sustaining. never heard of hydrogen making anything radioactive, can you show me where you heard that because i never knew that if its true.

False. TheUNZippee! transports and delivers liquid hydrogen for Air Products and Chemicals Ltd to the Ford testing facility in Dearborn, MI, the GM testing facility in Milford, MI, and a fueling facility at State College, PA, right across the street from their football stadium, to name a few. I can tell you that both of these companies have both the facilities and vehicles in operation and will in fact be producing vehicles that are similar in cost to purchase and operate. We also deliver to a couple of gas stations (one in Washington, DC) that also sell hydrogen at the consumer level.

Keep in mind that a big part of what hydrogen will be about is not cost reduction and reducing dependence on oil, but about reducing emissions.

"In many ways, hydrogen is the perfect fuel. It is the cleanest burning and the most efficient. Hydrogen can produce electricity and electricity can produce hydrogen, creating an energy loop that is renewable and harmless to the environment. Hydrogen combines chemically with most elements, so it has been utilized as an industrial chemical in a wide range of applications for many years. In vehicles, hydrogen can be used as a fuel in two ways: to produce electricity in a fuel cell for the cleanest option; or in an internal combustion engine where emissions are still significantly reduced compared with other fuels.
Fast Facts
Hydrogen Properties
Conversion Tables
Energy Values

What is Hydrogen?
  • Hydrogen is the most abundant element, comprising about three quarters of the mass in the universe. Hydrogen is found in the water that covers 70% of the earth's surface and in all organic matter.
  • Hydrogen is the simplest element in the universe. It is made up of one proton and one electron.
  • Hydrogen is the lightest of all elements and gases, and is 14 times lighter than air. A gaseous hydrogen "spill" diffuses immediately into the air, and does not pollute the ground or groundwater.
  • Hydrogen is colorless, odorless and nontoxic. It does not produce acid rain, deplete the ozone or produce harmful emissions.
How is Hydrogen the Most Efficient Fuel?
  • Hydrogen has the highest combustion energy per pound relative to any other fuel, meaning it is more efficient on a weight basis than fuels used currently.
  • Hydrogen offers 2-3 times more energy than most other common fuels. It combines readily with oxygen, releasing considerable energy as heat.
Why is Hydrogen the Cleanest Fuel?
  • Unlike carbon-based fuels, hydrogen produces no harmful by-products upon combustion. Only energy and clean water are produced when hydrogen is combined with oxygen in a fuel cell.
How is Hydrogen Produced?
  • The reforming of natural gas by applying heat is currently the most economical process for producing hydrogen.
  • Electrolysis produces hydrogen by using an electrical current to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen.
How has Hydrogen Been Used?
  • Hydrogen is used daily as a gas and liquid by many industries, including the petroleum industry and in manufacturing processes for producing chemicals, foods and electronics.
  • Towngas, a fuel used in the early part of the 20th century, was 50% hydrogen.
  • Hydrogen is used as a fuel for the NASA space shuttle."

Im in the fuel test program at NC State we work with the EPA and about 30 other companies designing these cars. It isn't the hydrogen that goes radioactive it is a chemical in the cell that starts the hydrogen breakdown, they are in effect I know but the dangers of putting it out to the retards of america are really high, and it isn't an efficient solution that will stick there is no way we can efficiently use hydrogen in a car especially when it is so volitale on breakdown

Gasoline is just as dangerous as Hydrogen when any transfer of product takes place. In fact one could say gasoline is more dangerous due to the vapors that are present when transferring the product. When transferring hydrogen there is a complete seal between hose and receiving vessel.

The reason Air Products and their customers is spending millions of dollars on research and development of this system is because there is a belief that this can indeed be made in to an efficient every day consumer product.

the problem we have experienced in our testing isn't filling it is maintenance most people either dont know how to or just dont take care of their cars properly, in all our test vehicles we always have a perfectly kept control and one the would go through the care an average person would take of the car , and its bad ignoring one minor detail in a gas engine may lead to a unwanted bill, in the same problem in a hydrogen engine leads to complete engine failure and combustion is very prominent, at one point in may work but in all reality there is no way hydrogen cars an going to enter the economy within the next 20 years on a scale large enough to do any good. We honestly dont have the funds or the technology to pull it off and the government is doing a great job at hindering all fuel research E-85 was their big plug this year and that stuffs a joke it creates minor emmission differences and changes are dependence none
