Christ!!! my god damn car!!!!

I'm getting pretty sick of my car already! It has 255rwhp, but it feels so damn slow now that i've been driving it for 6 months even though its faster than 85% of every other car on the street... but thats not what my main complaint is about...

For some reason, starting in 1st my whole car has been making a noise, like theres a bunch of different shit loose inside the dash or something, kinda like a grinding noise, but its def not the clutch or tranny. Well its been doing it for the past 2 weeks, and now yesterday, its starting to do it in everysingle gear!!!!!!! WTF !!!!!! Its at a certain rpm like 1800-2200 1st-4th...not in 5th though. In 1st it does it when i'm starting from a stop, kinda when it sometimes bogs a bit. Could it be something with my exhaust? like the frequecy its making at the 1800-2200rpms is causing shit to rattle?

All i kno is its soooo damn annyoing and it makes me wanna set my car's cruiz at 90 and jump out sending it into a fucking semi trailer!!!

Does anyone else have this problem? and if so how the hell do i solve it, because i'm not gonna take it much longer

o and btw, my car doesnt even have 18k on it yet!

Number one, bro, don't let a mechanical problem get you too worked up. Cars will always be breaking something, especially fast cars that get driven hard.

I would start off by checking for a broken motor mount, a bad U-joint, or perhaps even a bad transmission crossmember.

Sometimes a bad or broken motor mount can be perceived as a problem with the clutch, particularly on take off.

Also check for broken or missing exhaust hangers.

shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you know what!

I totally spaced it!

for the past 2 weeks, 1st has been doing it.

but on friday, before i left for snowboarding, i got my car washed at mikes carwash... its never once bottomed out before, but it did it that time for some reason... it was a really really boom! idk what it hit, but the tracks on the conveyor belt hit something on my underbody... and then when i got into it yesterday, it started making it in all gears...

i ususally dont go through carwashes, but its too damn cold to wash myself... and my winter stockers rims were on, and my summer rims will never have a chance of fitting through there lol... but i bet thats it... what should i look for? it didnt get to far over the conveyor, it would be along the same line of symmetry the inside of my tire, what do i look for?

Look for scuffmarks and dents on things. Get the car up in the air, with jack stands under it, and grab things with your hands and wiggle them around. Use a small prybar or big screw driver if you have to- but don't reef on shit. Just mae sure everything is tight and straight. You will be able to tell if something is wrong. If you're not positive, snap a pic, and post it up here so we can see if we can help you.

Which would typically indicate a drive line issue, such as the aforementioned motor mount, u-joint, differential, or transmission cross member possibilities.

Depends on your level of mechanical knowhow.

A U joint is not a hard fix. For me, a motor mount is annoying, but not hard in terms of complication. If it's in your diff, that's harder, and should prolly be done by a skilled mechanic. A transmission cross member can be done fairly easily.

If it turns out to be something exhaust related, you can also probably get the job done depending on what it is and what tools you have available.

When you're under there checking for shit, grab the drive shaft with both hands and try to move it up and down or side to side. There should be no play in either end- at the u-joints. There will be a SLIGHT amount of play at the yoke that slides in to the housing of the transmission where the yoke slides over the output shaft of the transmission. This is normal.

Huh. Are you sure, because, last I checked, Mustangs (as opposed to F-bodies) didn't rattle or have any type of interior issues. Ever. No, you must be mistaking that for road noise or something. At least this is what I was told when leaving the F-body world and coming to Mustangs.
