Yahoo said to join AOL's suitors

Yahoo Inc. is considering buying a stake in America Online Inc., joining other Internet powerhouses interested in the company's Web portal, a person close to the talks said Friday.

I think AOL is on a downward spiral, they were made popular by their dialup service... now their trying to cling to dsl services but I doubt they could ever have a descent stake over the phone companies.

It'll be interesting to see how AOL changes over the next couple years.

i think time warner, if they still own aol, is going to release aol to a company for themselves, which will kill aol, and aol will have to have these outside agreements for themselves, unless microsoft wants to pony up the cash for the software, which, considering microsoft, might happen, and we will hear all about the anti-trust laws all over again

but its all good

yeah its getting really bad for AOL. when i had it when i had dial up they had the best features out there. now with DSL and cable broadband for about the same cost as having AOL. i have verizon DSL and i pay 29.95 a month and i think AOL is at 23.00 a month and i get MSN premium with mine and mcafee security center included. i think bossman said that if you called up AOL and said you wanted to cacel your service that aol will charge you half just to for you to keep it. thats getting desparate. cause before they probally would of said ok, dont let the door knob hit ya where the good lod split ya.

EDIT: a little while ago AOL was practally giving away computers in exchange for a year contract to there internet service.
