Put Mustang in ditch!!! Wrecked!!!
So... i live in wisconsin. My only car is a mustang gt.I was driving down a snow covered road when i lost control and put it ass first into the ditch. Everything was ok. I didnt break anything and wasnt going that fast. So i go get my dad and his truck. We hook a chain up to the A-arm and pull it out. Well now when i drive, i will have to wheel straight and the car will randomly jerk and it is very hard to keep the wheels straight. So i look uonder my car and this is what i find......
![]() ![]() ![]() .....what is it?? Tie rod? That bent piece is suppose to be straight. Is this going to be an expensive fix? |

yes thats the tie rod i do believe... i think you can get away with just replacing it... but might have to replace the whole steering rack ... not sure

I'm going to go with CV joint and the tire rod is the one with the green bushing.

thats the inner tie rod, you may have done damage to the rack as hars as it had to have pulled out. good luck with that.
word of advice. dont drive a mustang in the snow, and dont crash into ditches...

thats not a CV joint, CV joints are in halfshaft style axles, he has no CV joints on that whole car. CV = constant velocity, in other words, constantly spin. that is not a moving part, its attatched to a moving part on the rack. you have the rack, then the inner tie rod, then the outer tie rod.

your going to need a tie rod tool for the inner tie rod though. and then a alignment.
