I bought my first gun today. Just so I wouldn't be out done by a skittle driver!

Kimber .45 ACP

I love it so far... gonna be heading to the range tomorrow to shoot, and the next concealed class is Feb 16th, and I already signed up. I can see my self now going over the top with this gun thing!

nice. looks just like my Pro Carry II, only i've got the shorter barrel and no grooves on the front of the slide (don't really need them to press check anyway)...

The groove in the front isn't really large enough to mount anything to. They sell them with those grooves, but it's about 2 or 3 hundred more.

i was talking about the grooves at the front of the slide that match the ones on the back. the ones on the back are to rack the slide to chamber a round. some pistols now have them up front so you can press check the pistol...

Gotcha... but what's a press check? I'm a big time noobie when it comes to guns... I did however look around a lot before I bought this one. I likes it better than everything else I held.

a press check is when you pull or push back on the slide just enough to see if there's a round chambered. you could just check the ejector (the little tab on the slide near the ejection port on the right side of the slide as you're holding the pistol), but a press check is just a good back up. if the round ejects from the chamber, you went too far. you should just go far enough to see the end of the casing of the chambered round...

I just relized that Mossberg 500 I bought you can buy a shit load of stuff for them. Stocks barrels heat sheilds anything.

i have that same model kimber but i bought the black for the abilty to keep it cleaner and itll hide better, but i lvoe it and have done a badass trigger job on it. breaks clean at 2.5 lbs. if your ever down here, let me know and if ya want me too, ill do a nice trigger job on it!!!
