Planet Earth/The Blue Planet

Just went to BestBuy because I had some leftover gift card $$ from Christmas... anywho, didn't know what I was going to buy, until I saw they were having a sale on the 10-Dvd set, "Planet Earth/The Blue Planet."

Anyone watch any of this BBC series? It's absolutely incredible is it not?!!

And for just $79 (notable that each set sold individually is $59.99, so both sets for $79 is a hell of a deal), this is a killer dvd set to own if you have a high-def television and high-def dvd player. Hot damn, this sure puts all those pixels I bought for some-odd thousands of dollars to good use.

Is that the one narrated by Sigorney weaver? It was shot really well in HD.

If she narrates a part of it, I haven't watched that part yet. I'm about 3 hours into the first dvd and there's still a ton of extra features I haven't clicked on yet. I think it would take about 20 weekends worth of "movie nights" to truly do both these sets justice.

I remember growing up as a kid being so fascinated with wildlife, going to the local zoo's, or simply watching the Discovery channel. Well these dvd's are like the old Discovery channel shows on steroids. I can't believe how high of quality these were filmed. 10 million dollars to film, over a period of a few years. Pretty remarkeable. Get this set if you do not already own it. I'm a huge movie collector, I easy have (legally) purchased well over 250, and this might take top honors amongst the collection.
