Military

Hey guys so I have been thinkin most of my family has been in the military and someone brought that up when I was lookin for a job...

So I was kinda thinking about it but the only thing is I want to be stationed in the U.S. and I dont really want to be sent to Iraq and also I want to be a MP so it will help my LEO status later on any thoughts?

yeah thats what I had in mind I was hopin I might even be stationed some where near here (where I live)

P.S. The only thing I am really worried about is if, once I sign the papers then they send me where ever to do whatever and I cant really say anything about it can I?

Bro, what is the big deal? If your going to join you want some excitement. Iraq while not a happy place will put some hair on your chest and make your balls drop! I'm sorry but I fail to see your point. And why close to home get out and see some stuff. W>P>

well unless ur the only son of the family or u have a medical problem that u cant go u have a chance of going overseas in anything u join up for

why not go??? scared??? not busting ur balls but thats where u get the best hands on experiance......sure u can take class after class and learn but its not full hands on doing the real thing

i was military police for 5 years, i went to iraq march of 03, the very beginning of the war.....our first mission, convoy security, then we did a few town patrols but not much, then we stopped those and only did convoy security, then we got our prison set up and we worked the prison, then while in tikrit we did vip security when they came, theres also alot of other things we did but thats just part of being in the army, me personally worked a 12 hour shift at night at the prison(i was in charge outside) then got off got changed to go to sleep and was wokin up to do a cash escort to baghdad(which i didnt get back till 9 or so that night)

my goal out of high school was to do leo or state trooper, since u cant untill 21 why not go military and be mp for training, so thats just what i did, 5 year contract and im good to go as a mp, well all is good till my knee gives me hell, so after 5 years its shot and bein a cop is shot

not a damn thing wrong with being scared man. if youre not scared, youre not human.

I have a friend over there right now thats a SEAL. hes lost 3 team members in the last few weeks. He doesnt say it, but I will bet you a grand hes been scared.

whatever you decide, if you do join up, thanks a ton. its people like you volunteering to do it that allows people like me to be home with my wife and kids.

our fighting men and women quite simply ROCK!!!!

I spent the last 3 and half years over there. Everyone get's scared. It's what you do in spite of being scared that matters. Besides it keep you on your toes.
I would recommend full time active and if you have the guts SF or Special OPs. Would you rather go over with the best equipment and full time training or one weekend a month training and maybe good equipment?

don’t forget being able to meet the physical requirements.
Because that is what I would love to do but because I have really shitty eyes, 20/275ish I cant be a special op, and as a result I haven’t decided whether or not to join.

join the Navy and go SWCC- Special Warfare Combatant Crew. they drive the boats that deliver SEALs. when i was in boot camp i considered it. for eyesight, it just has to be correctable. at least that's what it was back in '98. it might be different now, but it's worth looking into...

well I want to do army special forces. Also even with glasses the best sight I have ever had was 20/40. But I could possibly get corrected with surgery but there is also a good chance it could just make it worse.
