well its a long story but if you care to read here it goes.

my dad is one of three owners, there has been a lot of conflict between them for the last six months. my dad doesnt agree with whats going on there, but hes out numbered and not majority share holder. i was unhappy because they put this new guy in there as supervisor with no sales or mangerial experience. he made a bunch of changes including demoting my brother and i, cutting our commission, giving key accounts to no related salesmen, and generally making life a bitch for us. my brother voiced his concerns and after 18 years of loyal work to the company he was told the if he was unhappy to take his vaction and find somthing else. i asked a few close customers if i could usse them a references and while i had a few days of my new supervisor found this out. so today they fired me...

thats lame... file unemployment... and also check and see if they had rights to fire you... cause there are some places that require a good reason to fire you

a lot of states are not right-to-work states and you are hired by an at-will employer who can fire for any reason or without a reason - thats how it is in GA. just keep your head up and use your new references/contacts to get into something else

yeah i filed this morning. theres a lot more to it its just hard to explain, its a wierd situation. i dont think i should of been fired for this with no warning, wite up, and my customers have nothing but good things to say about me. it just boils down to they dont like my dad disagreeing with their unethical decisions and so im in the cross hairs. they just want my family out of there so this is their bull shit excuse. businesses owned and operated by multiple families can be cut throat.

Well, did you sign a non-compete? If you did, getting fired usually voids it. Take your skills and knowledge to your most hated competitor and work for them. Take your account base and customer lists (not on paper... just in your memory of course) and go work for them.

Kick the stinking shit out of your former employer! Before you do that, give your Pops some notice to get out while the gettins good.
