This wasnt expected at all, there were no warnings for this at all. Just rain in the forecast. All of these were houses in or right outside the neighborhood.

We were very lucky, no damage to the house, just the pool and mailbox. Almost all of the neighbors are missing shingles, siding, tree on house, tree on car, and so on

A guy leaving the subdivision this morning, had a tree fall on his car. A branch impaled his stomach, but he is said to be doing well. There a few people in CC at the hospital. One lady was blown like 30 yards out of her front door, then her house was completely destroyed seconds later. That was about 20 minutes away though. The guy impaled lived in the subdivision.

wow.. its great that there was only that much damage done. that is rare for a tornado.

Oh thats just a few houses right around me. There was ALOT more damage, houses gone, just debris everywhere.

man im pissed been on this earth for 27 1/2 years, and i have never even seen a funnel cloud or a tornado.....

got really freakin close last year. May 5th 2007, the day after the Greensburg, KS F-5 Tornado, was out chasing in central ks with my brother...we went out just about 10 miles east of Russell KS on I-70, and we stopped in this little podunk town to get gas and the sky was a murky brown, with gray and green, it was really fucking eerie, quiet as a church, not even the crickets were chirpin, no birds singing, in fact i couldn't see a bird anywhere.

Halfway through pumpin gas the sirens started blaring...so my brother calls my dad here in Nashville. my dad has his Kansas Roadmap out, and was feeding us up to the minute NWS feeds and radar updates over the phone while sitting at the computer. he had us within about 1 mile of one, but it was so damn rain wrapped we couldn't see it...we were under an overpass on I-70 (runs east to west) and it was passing by from the southwest to the northeast, and it was about 1 mile in front of us. The wind was incredible,and the rain was horizontal, and the hail was damn near baseball size. we chased until about 9 pm....then we parked underneath another overpass (about 15 miles south of Lincoln, KS and were waiting for another storm to the southwest to come up towards I-70, and there was a big red rig parked under the overpass on the other side of the highway,but we got tired of waiting so we took off for home. about 40 miuntes later, i intercepted a police report over the scanner about a big rig that got flipped over underneath an overpass, it was red and had 2 passengers in it....my brother and i were relieved we had decided to head for home. nothing worse than trying to chase tornadoes at night.

Interesting thing about TN is that we have as many tornadoes as were in Kansas City area, but the ones at Tennessee are historically more violent and often come under cover of night which makes them more dangerous. so this spring should be fun, cause I'll get to go chasin' a bit here starting in the next couple of weeks. woohoo!!!

here in the south we've had some bad nights lately, or so they say i've been sick with the super flu or something and have been passed out for that past 2 days, but yeah they say that it's been a record setting year so far some thing like 150-170 tornados just in february, (the last record being like 75 i think?) but where i live we've really only had just strong winds and power outages.
in line we're really only like 20-40 miles higher than carrolton and all that but i dunno we've been lucky.
glad ya'll ya'll weren't hurt and that there wasn't any major damage,
and just look at now that you may be able to talk the insurance into an inground pool

tornado season's not over yet...it's just getting started...going to be a long 4 months of it too. been relatively quiet the last 2 years, we may set a record for # of severe storms and tornadoes this year.
