just keep this in mind: its only a few more weeks. and DO NOT count down the days or weeks of boot camp left. it drives you crazy thinking like that. if you must count down, cound down the number of meals a day. focus on getting through that day and dont worry about the next. meal 1: prepare yourself mentally for the day. meal 2: halfway there. keep it up. meal 3: just a few more hours. you will do a lot of physical activity, and you will feel like your body will break down. it wont. your body can take a lot more punishment then you think it can. you will be sore a lot also. DO NOT let yourself get down to where you think you cant go on anymore. thats the mental part coming into play. keep your mind focused on your goal, which is completing boot. its a big game, play it right and you will win.

Coastie's right. it's just a big mind game. just keep your mouth shut and do what they tell you. they will beat you down, but it's just to turn you into something better. your body will ache, but that's just it's way of telling you you're still alive. oh, and keep yourself hydrated...

i know what you mean, my step dad is a 30 year AF retired, he got shrapnel in his foot during Vietnam, the VA screwed up so many times trying to get it all out, that it started a Tumor, which grew and grew..the VA screwed up so bad on the surgeries and such he had to have his leg amputated just below the knee.

i wouldn't go to the VA unless i had a gunshot wound or happened to collapse right in front of that place, bunch of butchers..

you ever hear that even the guy who comes in last place in med school still gets to be called doctor? well its true and they work at the VA...

oh and boot camp is a frigging joke..

its like summer camp without the basket weaving and crafts..i went thru the hardest basic outside of the USMC, (which is just longer, no harder) and it was a joke, it was all i could do not to laugh out loud the "mind games"

Being a Veteran puts you into a group with all us other Vets who have these little inside jokes and such...

Not only that but you can live your life knowing you did what you could to preserve the freedom that we enjoy for your kids...I only hope the next generation will do the same...

congrats.............I wish you luck I have 2 nefews just came back from the sands...hell 1 we had to send him food as they ran out several times what a joke....aw the stories of how they fuck over the guys there makes me wanted shoot the real problem, the polititions!
