somethin wrong with this picture...

no there isnt actually a picture lol but anyways, i dunno if anyone else notices this, but i meet more people that dont own a mustang and still share the same enthusiasm about mustangs as i do, than i do people who actually own a mustang...most people i meet with mustangs don't have any knowledge what so ever of their car, or even about mustangs in general...what is this world coming to?!

Guys... not fair. what is all this bashing and shit going on for between V-6 and non V-6 owners?

Quit generalizing all of us V-6 owners as being idiots! I will say there are some that frequent this site that are bone-heads but there are some non V-6 bone-heads as well. A Mustang is still a Mustang. Its all good. Some are better than others and thats great. But just because I'm a V-6 owner doesnt make me a hater of the bigger engines.

Honestly, I would rather have a GT vert but the 6 is what was available for the price when I was in the market.

The only generalizations that should be made around here should be with owners of ricers.

Supermach ~ no, you're not the only one. I try to get a wave or some type of acknowledgement from fellow Mustang drivers passing by, but unless there's a blue moon out, I get nothing. I see a ton of Mustang owners who probably think it's just another car. Point-a to point-b typa thing, you know? It's a crying shame.

I wish more owners were more aware of our pride. I agree. I really need to get the MM sticker so people would see.

Personally, I love it when people want to talk about my car. When I go places, its cool to experience the enthusiasm with other car people. I get alot of compliments but usually they are from younger kids and non-Mustang owners.

yeah i guess not everyone is into their cars, but we cant let them break the brotherhood of the mustang!!

and i wasnt trying to bash on the v6s...i own one too, but the majority of mustangs you see are v6's, and the majority of people i meet dont give a rats ass about it, they just bought it cause it looked cool and now they are just glad they have 4 wheels, and its pitiful!

I almost take it as a compliment. If some person had 5 grand to spend on a car, they could buy alot of different kinds of cars. There's a ton of used cars out there that can be used as "just wheels" to get around. The fact that they picked a Mustang means that there was something appealing to them that was better than all the other vehicles available. If its the way it looks or reliability (I doubt the reliability) or maybe its the way WE enthusiansts act around our cars.

See, people are always looking to belong. Everyone wants to be a part of a bigger picture than just themselves. When someone see's you Super, maybe they admire your confidence and attitude towards your ride. They think "boy, it must be nice to have a sweet ass ride like that". So even if they cant get the "perfect" Mustang, they buy the one they can.

Now here's the issue. They have a Mustang but maybe its older or not in the best of shape. Maybe they are not as agressive as we are with our enthusiasm because they dont have the newest or greatest model on the road. They feel good about the Mustang but not confident enough in the car to approach and talk about it like we do. Maybe not even confident enough to throw a "wave" to a fellow owner.

So when you wave to them, be sure that some of them appreciate it and notice it. Maybe that wave makes them feel accepted as an owner whcih could lead to looking for a site like this or maybe even putting on some mods.

Spoken like a true Stanger. And you are correct. This type of commorodity and friendship is what drew me to the Mustang as a young teenager a decade ago.

same for me too.

But even with the people with GT's they still have no interest in their mustang. It just makes me wonder why the hell they have such a sweet ride. I try to talk car talk with them and they kinda just pretend they know what im talking about and then i walk away haha. The ricers at my school have more interest in my car then people i know with mustangs. wtf?

Where do you get the sticker? when ever im driving around town and i see a mustang i wonder if they belong to MM. But if they dont they can look at my sticker and maybe join or something and get to know about their car like i did. Ive learned so much from this site. When i first bought my mustang i was always into cars but i didnt know what the hell an O/R X pipe was until i joined this site and started asking questions.

I'm just fuckin' with you guys.
I can't think of a single V6 owner on here that has said, "I bought this V6 Mustang just to say I have a Mustang!"
Ya'll are just as serious about the performance/styling/heritage of your cars as anybody else on here. And in many instances, more so.
The people supermachone is making referance to is most likely the "Me too!!" crowd. Ya'll know who they are "Oh, you have a Mustang? Me too!!"
