NASCAR fans, need your help......

ok for all you nascar fans, and for those who have been to a nascar race!!!

my girlfriends 25th birthday is coming up. she is a hardcore nascar fan, and she's never been to a race. and I thought of a suprise birthday gift would be tickets to a race! the next closest race to where we are would be pocono 500 on june 8th or Dover in September (dover in june we will be on a plane coming home from las vegas). I've never bought tickets for a nascar event, and i want to do something special for that event on her birthday.

what kind of seats should I be looking for or best package deal to get? and are the big mile club or other premium packages (continetal breakfast, food/beverage service, possible driver meeting, souveniors) worth it?

we are lined up to do the richard petty driving experience in may on our vegas vacation.

I want this to be a memorable birthday gift for her.....

any thoughts?

Go for seats towards the upper rows, they're the best. I would also highly recommend on getting any of the packages. They're more than worth it.

Pocono is a longer track. Dover would probably be a better time for her mainly and you too of course. Dover is a pretty intense race. I would prefer seats at the exit of turn 4 or somewhere along the front stretch which is pit row side, man that is awesome to watch them during a pit stop! Been to 2 races, both at Darlington! The TV doesn't do shit for it! The grandstands shake when they get a restart.

A package would probably get you pit passes as well and she would have a chance at meeting her favorite driver and possibly a picture and/or autograph.

I'm jealous...will you take me???

when i get tickets i usally get them up high and about 20ft behind the finish line and i love it because you get to see the race to the finish and see the people in the pits working on the cars

Yeah the seats up there and in the packages are nice. I went to several races, and ive run in a few races at the local nascar sanctioned track, and just being there will make her extremely happy.

Between the two, go to dover. I've been to both. You should be able to call the track and get tickets. I always just go to the track and buy them from someone scalping them. Like others have said, get the highest seats you can.

The higher the seat, typically, the higher the price, because the view is incredible and you don't need ear plugs. I'm a fan of the package deal ~ one with a pit pass, HOWEVER, don't buy a seat in the center circle, you cannot see the race from there. Buy seats in the grandstands and pay a little extra to get down onto pit lane and it is 100% worth the extra hundred or two dollars. Seats off of turn 4 are the best... you'll see a few more crashes there too! I made it my goal to meet my fav. 3 drivers at the last Talledaga race and accomplished my goal (Bobby Labonte, Kasey Kahne, Greg Biffle.... Bobby has the best looking wife btw.) and so long as you get there EARLY, most drivers love handing out autographs.

Man that sounds like the best birthday gift ever! And you my friend, are one lucky man to be dating a girl who is into racing. Congrats, and best of luck.

her favorite driver is of course Earnhardt, Jr.

so getting her a pic with him and an autograph, dude I'd get laid for life! LOL I've never done something special for a girl that Ive dated, cause most of the girls I've dated, the relationships didnt last long because they were with me for the wrong reasons. this girl is much much different, and I met her at my best friends wedding, so you know the night was awesome (no i didnt get laid with her)

For those two tracks Dover is going to be the better race to watch. Unless you can get seats in the owners box at pocono. If you are up top with binos you could see the whole track. I went to pocono and sat in a owners box I could see everything except turn 1. it is a huge track 2.5miles. We walked down and stood in the stands for a couple restarts just to hear the cars on restart and stood there for a few laps so she could hear and see them scream by the start finish line but basically you see them blur by at 190 and cant see to much of the race.

Dover you would be able to see all of the race, try to get seats in turn 4 but it doesnt really matter. I only say turn four becuase you will see action there at the end of the race.

Always remember that for a fan the shorter the track the better when you talking about being there.

Bristol at night the shit if you feel like traveling and can get tickets. bristol on a saturday night is what stock car raceing is all about. 280,000 fans, non stop beating, banging raceing.

bristol is the best race track u can go to IMO. i go 2 the night race every year. the best place to sit at any track is about half way up on any of the turn exits
