Cops Are Not Above The Law!

I was driving to work at 5:30 AM and going about 75 in a 55 zone and this cop was sitting on the side of the road. He pulled me over and gave me a traffic citation for driving too fast for conditions. That was better then going 20mph over the speed limit. The part I don't like is cops can't really use radar at night time. They have to have lights on you. There was no lights. He all so got me in a group of cars and then again a cop can not get you in a group of cars. He was not playing fair and that sucks. I am really thinking about going to court on this one.

If you do go hope it turns out better for yah then anything I have ever dealt with.

I cant plea bargain a ticket worth crap where I live. I know so many tricks and stuff and the best you can ever do is get them to knock off 100 bucks since the cop didn't actually get you with the radar gun and he got you in traffic with his dash radar......

idk if you've ever been to courts, but unfortunatly ive been there more then i can count, and so you know their favorite ruling is..."were gonna have to re-schedule this"

they say that about 10 times. and its a pain in the ass, take about an hour to get called up sometime or more, ive sat in a court room for 2hrs before they called my name finally. and i got there early so i was there for about 3 and half hours

the court room i went to or court house w/e everytime the judge was late...not like 5-10 minutes, im talkin baout an hour...hour and half

and its not like im just saying this about 3-4 times ive went, im talking about damm near 20 times

Most traffic courts dont take that long...

1. You go sit down and wait
2. they call your name and the cop that issued the citation
3. the judge hears what you plea after reading you what you are charged with...
4. the judge decides what he/she thinks
5. Judge makes a ruling...

It really does not take that long...But that is also dependent on what you did...

Ive been to court a few times over traffic violations. Now im not saying this is true for every judge but its your word against a police officers and 9 times out of 10 the judge is gona side with the cop. If your actually going to fight this you definatley want to sit down and carefully plan out what your going to say and how to word everything. I would almost say talk to a lawyer for advice, because if you go up there and dont know what your going say or dont have the proper wording the judge will remember that. If you go in there dressed nice with a written speach so to say and plead your case you have a much better chance. Also look into the laws about the night time radar and group detection in your state. I know it sounds like a bitch but if you want to actually beat a cop in court its gona be a bitch.

p.s. i have used my own advice and have gotten out of a 80 in a 60 ticket

I have had a few ticket...Most of them were wreckless driving...

Alot of it depends on what your driving record looks like...Also it depends on if the police officer decides to show up to court or not...

I would be tempted to just pay the ticket...

Because you are verging on reckless driving with that ticket...The cop cut you a break IMHO...

2 wrongs don't make a right. Everyone must play by the rules. Let me think about it and look into it more. Not really worried about the money. I think I am going to call my lawyer.
