I believe in god and I think of myself as a christian ok no I am a christian

But I kind of wonder sometimes about all the other relegions and god..

But what if nothing is right? The thought crossed my mind today and it kind of scared me...

I am not going to get in to my religious beliefs but the thing that scars me shit less is that I think when you “die” it isn’t like there is nothing or you are in haven of hell but that you are stuck in you body and cant do any thing. Sort of like a vegetative state. Just stuck like that for ever. It freaks me out to think about that.

ya i heard about the 12/ 21/ 2012 thing when i was in 6 or 7 th grade
the mians are pretty smart if you look at what ells the accomplished and there other predictions that were right
also the other thing is that some nostradamus also predicted a date that the world would end and it is around the same time (with in a few years i think) and a lot of his predictions were also correct

I was born and raised a Catholic.The whole process was drilled into my head from a very young age. All the practices, the rights, the wrongs, Gods word. Al of it. Loking on it now, there is not much in the way of self-finding. It is alot of mindless repetition and ceremony. Kneeling, repeating after the Preist, knowing when to say the "Amens". When to say this or that, how to hold your hands, when to close your eyes, etc.

I am now a 27 year old divorcee, who has committed adultry, taken the Lords name in vain numerous times and is having a child out of wed-lock. According to the Catholic "rules ad teachings", I should be forgiven by God. If I repent, plea forgivness, in the witness of a Preist.
Over the course of my life, I have found myself gravitating towards a more scientific foundation. I, myself, find it odd that the Catholic religion hails blasphemy on those that believe in science over God. Where it strikes the cord is that with science, there is a process. An order. A place. With religion, you base an entire belief on a book?
Maybe I have entirely lost my way. I don't know. I don't really think about it.
If there truly is a God, why, won't he show himself to all?

While working at a MENTAL HOSPITAL, I saw many strange things. If there truly is a God, he has one wonder, skewed sense of humor.

I have to hand it to the Myans. Their calender has been spot on thus far.
What really gets me is, they claimed 7 years of peace in the middle-east before the end of days. When they wrote that, there was NO middle -east
So if we do some simple math 2012-7=2005

2005= Sadam Hussein captured

Sadam Hussein= perpetual bad boy of middle-east

HB I know exactly what you are talking about with the catholic religion.

I have many times said that it is a cult and if you look closely at it and compare it to actual cults it is very similar.
I do think that what it is based on is good but over the years and years since its foundation it has been distorted.

I believe that if there is a GOD than he doesnt need a third person such as a priest to mediate my sins...that he can hear my prayers and confessions at night. I kind of agree with HB too though...if there is a GOD then WHY? to everything bad...if He is of all great then why couldnt he undo what Adam and Eve did...why is there poverty and disease? Why is MY mom sick but my neighbors is healthy? I guess questions that will never be answered. I just want my children to believe in something that is bigger than this world and learn the right from wrong...learn hope and fear...

yeah but that's the thing.. technically the mayan calendar doesn't say the world is going to end, they say that the current age will end and the new age will begin.. another website compared it to an odometer, saying that earth's odometer will roll over to 100,000 miles and everything.. life, nature, etc. will die and a whole new world will begin..

oh well, i guess we'll find out in a few years..
