Got a semi full day of wrenching in!

Went and bought the right bolts for my harmonic balancer puller. GOt that off no problem. Then rented the power-steering pulley puller. And the damn thing wouldn't work. Tried for like 2 hours. So i take the thing back. See if they have any-ideas. And nothing. So i go home and low and behold I could just unbolt the damn power-steering pump. 2 hours at least wasted. But after that taking the chains and everything off was just fine. The damn bottom bolts for the heads are too long to get out with it in the car, so it took a while to get the drivers side head off, along with the dipstick tube. I just cut the dip stick tube. Anyway, I got it down to a short block. Everything looks good still. Can't wait for the Heads to show up to start reassembly.

Tomorrow the Drag springs go in it.

because the dipstick tube is a PITA going in through the exhaust manifold.

I have a Lokar Adjustable tube anyway...

Woo I see what I have to look forward to. Couple questions
- Are you upgrading your injectors? If not, why not just leave them (and the fuel rails) on the intake?
- I didn't need to remove the water pump to get the front cover off... did you just do this to make more room?
- Can you take a pic of your front cover for me? I took more stuff off than I needed to when disassembling my PI motor..
- How far do you turn the crank from tdc to get the engine in "safe mode?" Or is that labeled on the front cover?
- Last but not least, are you reusing your cam gears? I have the ones that came with my PI engine - do the markings on the old and new gears line up with the new ones?
- I take it you can use the PI headers with no problem lining up to your mid pipe?

Phew. I think that's it. Thanks dude

-I took the injectors out just for the easy of taking the intake off.
-Water pump same reason.
-I can get a picture of the timin cover for ya.
-I havent put it in Safe mod yet. But the cover has 3 markings. a 30º BTDC, a 15º BTDC and a TDC.
-The gears should be marked the exact same. I wonder why my gears didnt have the one solid one and the one with holes in it. All romeo motors I have seen have had that. But then again most if not all have been PI motors.
-Yeah the headers will work the exact same, but go with atleast a BBK shorty if ur doing the swap. Im personally doing the Hooker Pro Comp Longutbes, but I could care less about emissions.

Just ask if you have more questions.
