No lets get this straight! Taking the PS pulley off is the EASY way. You just didnt know how to use the tool! Thats why you took the line and fitting off. LOL Dont want the easy way. Dont ask.

I could use an easy way... can't get the line of because the pulley stops the wrench from turning on the line- can't get the pump off because the screw is behind the line. Fucking moronic design.

have you got the bolt that attatches the pump to the engine backed out at all yet?
Usually, once you have all the bolts for the pump out. and then you back that one out it will come off the engine. The bolt just will not come all the way out of the pump.

I dont know how or why this is. But I have seen these power steering have only 2 bolts in them and some with only 3 in them. Straight from the factory. Usually have either 1 in top and 1 in bottom of front to holes or vice versa. I have also seen only 1 bolt used in the front holes and then 1 bolt adjacent to that bolt on the rear holes. That is why I always pull the pulley off. Matt IMO got lucky. Matt and I talked a few times on the phone. And I agreed with him that the PS pulley can be a MF'er. Especially if you have never used the tool to do it with. I think that there could have been a design in the pulley that let it have some slots in it, to get a wrench thru the pulley and access the bolts that way. I have seen a pulley like this on other cars before.

I'll try to back it off a bit. I got a 10mm wrench in there but figured if I didn't get it out all the way it wouldn't come off... Mine had 4

Thanks man. I agree, that the best way to learn is to tear something apart. U should ask my dad or my buddies. I will tear anything apart and not think twice about putting it back together. Never been scared.
