On street protocol?

Last night I had an "encounter" with another S197 Mustang. I had just jumped on the freeway and, I assume he had just beated the sh*t out of some Mitsubishi cause he went flying by first and the Mit second. He slows down and pulls next to me. He starts rev'ing his engine so I assume he wants to race. I'm a stock V6 w/ only an exhaust upgrade vs what sounds like a lot of mods, meaning it didn't sound like my stock engine. I don't indulge him. However, my wife points out to, to my ignorance, that maybe he just wanted to hear what my exhaust sounded like. Opinions?

First off welcome to MM. We're glad to have you. There's no way to know for sure. But I think it is a pretty good bet the guy wanted to race.

Maybe he forgot to put it into gear or mis-shifted right next to you by accident?

I wish it meant hello here but anyone that goes cruising wants to race, its fuckin stupid... there is one main street you cruise, its all 25 mph until the last half mile where its 40 but you flip a U right at the beginning of the 40 zone but the thing is every fucking 16 year old cruises that street looking for races, I cruise it cause its down town, there are college girls everywhere and there are girls everywhere... but no you get one stupid fucker who thinks he is tough in his dodge stratus and your night is fucking ruined... idiots
