Why I hate Fenderwell CAIs

My filter somehow worked it's way off. I've been pulling in unfiltered air and it's been a rainy wet mess lately. Didn't know until today when it occured to me that my car felt a little more powerful but the idle wasn't quite as smooth. The filter is disgusting covered in dirt and soggy wet. I really hope my engine will be ok. Since I didn't have a MAF screen, I'll probably have to take out the intake manifold, pull all of the small stones out of the intercooler and fix all of the fins. That'll be fun. Here's a pic of what my intercooler is supposed to look like. I'll make sure to post pics of the damage.

I have never liked them. I have always like Steeda's CAI. Just something about putting it that close to the ground with all of the dirt and water I just don't like.

Thats why I got the K&N FIPK. It's mounted in the engine bay where I like it.

I may just mount a big-ass filter right onto my MAF and be done with it.

Oh, it is. But it's a pain in the ass to check. I have to remove my splash guard and get at it from the wheel well.
