Mustang > Camaro

ok...i do landscape work in the summer and on average will be making 600$ a week ... about 400 is going to be going to my car (im 18 and still live at home thats why this is possible)....so after about 4 months ill have close to 5g's. My friend is buying a 99 camaro ls1 with 6sp and all that good stuff...i want there to be no competition and i want the dream car ive imagined to be the one im driving. so i want to say what my plans are for now and if anyone wants to chime in please do.

Suspension: Blue oval upper and lower control arms...ive heard this about 50/50 shocks and such someone care to explain? and anything else i should do....
M/T DR 275/40/17

For now my transmission is ok i have a t5 that i got rebuilt but i want to buy a tremec 5 sp or t56...how hard is the conversion for these?

Engine...what to do with this i am undecided i want to stick to efi and i want about 300 to the wheels without a power adder but im thinking kenne bell for a little extra sack...on a stock 302 with nothing done to it is it possible to just slap on a kenne bell charger and run with 300hp? right now i have a 75 wet shot and i love it but i hate how its not always there... i might keep the nitrous for when i go up to lebanon valley..oh and i want to get rid of my motor it leaks oil from everywhere...

I have 3.55 gears not installed and am getting my posi rebuilt asap

what do you guys think i mean i wont be getting all these done at once but i want to get my suspension and gears and posi squared away first thing then move to ripping out the motor but...

one problem i have is the wiring in my car i drive it close to every day and when i go to start it i have to crank it stop then crank again for a second THEN it fires up and ive had a lot of problems with wiring like blowing my eec relay and fp relay so i dont know if i want to put money into it and not have it perfect...

i guess after all that im just trying to say im confused and figured ill get help from the best group of guys out there.

If you are wanting around 300hp to the wheels a good H/C/I package should get you there N/A, but if you wanted more go you could keep your 75hp kit on there. Trickflow makes a good topend kit for around $2400.

Thats not high miles for your engines. H/C/I alone won't give you 300 rwhp. It might give you close to 300 to the crank. If you get custom cams maybe it will be closer. Before you get a kb I would stroke it to 347 and have 400 hp on engine alone. It won't take much more to crack the block anyways.

Well from watching others beat down LS1's at the track all day with a street car, I have to say 351 bored .40 over and stroked. Keith Black Forged Pistons with a compression ratio of 8.5.1 - 9.5.1. lighter Flywheel, King Cobra clutch or Centerline I or II clutch. AFR or Trickflow heads with a good port job. 75mm T/B with the correct MAF Sensor to handle the added air to control. A Cam in the 286* 550" and some long tube headers. 3.55's or 3.73 gears with c-clip eliminators and some good drag rads. You'll make an easy 400hp out of that and I also have to say you can make 400 from a 302 as 5.0 Mustangs has shown a mustang LX making 375hp with room for more.

Oh yeah, some forged scat rods too.

so if i ripped my motor out and did tfs top end kit, would that be the best bang for the buck? anyone want to share their setups?... a stroker might be too much for this project but down the road it will happen...

If you want to do a stroker kit "down the road" the best bang for your buck would be to do the one you want, not spend 2K+ on a Trick Flow Kit, just so ya can change it out next year or so.

If i was you the best way to get the best bang for your buck would to get what ya want now, pick one and go with it. Also dont fool yourself no engine kit is a cake walk, although sometimes i wish they were!

5000 bucks...

get a stroker kit.....347 and do h/i/c that will beat the shit out of a LS1

it might be a lil more than 5000 when its all said and done...your motor work is going to cost...

and the gas might help
