any car suggestions?
i was wondering what my next ride should be, and an 04 cobra looks pretty amazing. i have a rough idea of what i want... i have sold my old car and have around $50k to spend on car/modifications. any suggestions on power adders/suspension setups for it? i want a VERY fast car, that i can drive on the weekends. doesnt need to be daily driver, i have a subaru for that (383whp) i need it to be faster than that! thanks yall.

Terminator car, upgrade the rear axle half-shafts (I'm vehemently opposed to straight-axle swaps on those cars, but I'm a cornering-kinda guy), do the big blower upgrade (I forget if that's the 2.3L or the 2.7L) and everything that requires, and full coil-over conversion, so you can actually use all 800hp you're gonna end up with for more than just melting tires.

terminators are the 03-04 cobras they came with a supercharger and forged internals. for many people though the stock eaton blower isnt enough and they often opt for a kenne bell. also the cobras have irs while most other mustangs are solid axle.

You know, I hate to be a bastard here, but if you have $50k for a "very fast car" you have some other options.
I mean, you can get a slightly used Z06, you could get any number of used Audi RS-whatevers, you could get a Mk IV Supra and build it to something above 800 hp (or go IS300 for sleeper factor). I mean, $50K is a LOT to spend on a mustang, for that price you could drop a fully-built twin-turbo 96-98 Cobra motor into a fox body and probably turn 9s in a street legal car. I guess it just depends on what you mean be "VERY FAST" and what you want to do to get there.

for 50k the fastest mustang would be a fox body honestly.
you can pick them up for 4 grand. lol

well, I challenge anyone to show me a car with over 500hp that's reliable for under $50k.

HMUSN nailed it, 04 Cobra with a big Kenne Bell, full bolt-ons, upgrade the suspension and fuel, tune it, and you have a pretty bad ass car. A couple of turbos wouldn't be a bad idea either, just depends on what kind of performance you are looking for.

i dont want to go bonkers and bore/stroke/upgraded internal shit.
my sti has all that and it gave me a migraine. its fast as hell. but awd is a buzz kill, and the turbo takes years to spool. i want more power, lower down, rwd. so i turned to mustangs! my friend has a 5.0 he bought for 5k with some kind of bore, cams, and full exhaust. it was pretty badass. but it broke down alot. |

500 HP will be the easiest to achieve with a 03-04 Cobra honestly.
the older (fox) mustangs can make more power with less money overall though
