i need a longer one of these  see the piece that screws on that the pin goes into i dont no what you would call it... well yea i need that exact piece just like that just as thick and brushed aluminum but i need it 1/2" longer help me  is there anyway i can fabricate it to make it longer i believe the thread is 3/4" maybe at the hardware store?

with the double nut design they look to be lock nuts. set the first nut at what ever hight you want and then tighten the second one on to it to make it lock on

this is how the piece looks now and unfortunetley does not stick up high enough out of my hood to latch the pins
 therefore, i need the piece to be modified and or someone to give me a link to where i can buy longer ones. it should end up like this  in conclusion someone please help me!

i was going to use the brackets that came with it but the only place i have its kind of bent and wouldnt work out my only option is longer those anyone know what they would be called?

try Lowes....they have a shitload of different bolt sizes....you could make your own...find the same thread sized longer bolt...drill a hole in it grind it down smooth to match the other one....bolts are like 50cents to a couple bucks...by a bunch and try till ya get it right
 ....and then when your done with that .................................................. ...................................................................................
