i need more hours!

my work time has been cut back (along with everyone else's) to save the company some erroneous expenses of paying people to stand around. i used to get about 25 hours a week during school, and i got 20 hours my first week at my new job, then i got 17 hours the second week, and 14 hours the third week. see the pattern? well, skip along a month or so, i got 8 1/2 hours this past week, ZERO hours the next week (i didnt take time off! lol), 6 hours the following week, and then back up to 13 hours the next week. so by the time november is over, i will have a month's total of under 30 hours! that is one week's work. o well, more time to focus on school and hang out with friends more. i need a break anyway, and i will see if i can take my parents up on teir offer to cover my insurance but i still pay gas to keep my AP grades up and take some time to hang out with friends more.

how's yall's work lives?

good money, and good location. i just hate having no hours and working like 4-6 hours a day. if i am taking the time to dedicate a day to drive to work, i want to work 8-10 hours or more and get that 4 days a week.

i dont know if you can depending on your state laws. working a kid to much is protected by child labor laws. at least in my area. i think a 16 or 17 year old cant work more than 28 hours a week and cant work past 7 pm on school days. again this is in my state. i dont know about georgia

well, i am also not supposed to work more than 4 1/2 hours without a one hour break, but i get scheduled for 6 hours at a time without a break, i work til 9pm sundays, and 11pm fridays/saturdays usually with a lot of hours. i used to get over 35 hours a week in the summer, but that is because i could work 5 days in a row (the max. in GA) then take a day off, and then work another day...

well, i guess when i go in tomorrow, i will ask for more hours and see what happens. i want to work about 20hours a week atleast so i can stay somewhat independent and pay for my insurance and all my car maintenance, etc. hopefully, i get the increase in hours and things improve at work.

I was a govt. contractor for Northrop Grumman working on F14 Tomcats. The contract ended and so did my employment. I used to tow on the side but now I am on unemployment I can't do that. Now I go to ATI night classes for my ASE master and my auto tech assoc. degree.

Work is good for me. Drive a truck and hang out in a warehouse all day.
Better than my last job at Pepsi. Worked 70 to 80 hours a week. And I make more now working 50 than I did then.
