Can ur senses improve?

We've all heard of hearing and sight loss with old age, but i was wondering if ur sense improve as ur reaching ur prime....

I mean i'm 23, and for the past year or so my sense of smell has been goin crazy. I can smell things in the air that people can't..... smell different things in the air even with a more over powering smell covering it up....

some of the chemicals for my fish tank......i can smell them in the air from across the room...... but yet everyone thinks i'm nuts.

any ideas?

I have heard that when some people don't have a sense, like hearing, or talking.....that there other senses increase dramatically. I know one guy that is def and can't talk. He likes to turkey hunt so I will get the turkey calls and make the sounds while he holds his hands on it to feel the vibrations.

When he goes out to hunt, he tries to make those same vibrations.

well i can account for this. My eyes arent that great. I wear glasses and always. I have a pretty bad stigmatism and it sucks, but my hearing is pretty damn good.

I hear things ALOT of people dont hear. I can listen to a song for instance and tell you everything about it. Every instrument, key, alot of the notes used, and shit like that. Its how I learned to play guitar. Listen then recreate it with my own hands.

my eyesight is pretty shot too without my glasses......
